Ahhhh i miss eating this.. i remember getting this for breakfast when i was working in sats. I get pickles green chilis on the side and more sambal! Love it meatmen!
When I was a kid, economic beehoon was just beehoon, an egg maybe and just chilli sauce and that was 'economic' because it was really cheap haha... now got so many ingredients to choose from... really is super premium....
Surprised to see so many negative comments. I made this today- and really enjoyed it! Doubled the sauce because it didn’t have enough of the nostalgic taste I was looking for, but also because I usually skip the sides. Comments about oil / fish sauce / sugar… are so unnecessary; I was looking for that childhood memory and I got what I was looking for. And it’s not like I’m having this 3 times a day, every day of the year lol
Appreciate the kind words! Our recipe may not be authentic as to what others have mentioned, but we made this recipe as to how we remember it tasted :) Of course, everyone has their own version of a recipe, and it's not a must to follow!
i tried cooking that in this method but the moment i added the water to the beehoon in the wok it start to clump and stick together. is it because the type of beehoon i used?
I find it easier to prepare the bee hoon by adding some oil while blanching with hot water, and immediately removed from hot water once it is softened, strained and let the bee hoon sit for a while. That way the bee hoon won't like melted and stick together
Whoah! That is the coolest way to get the egg yolk to sit perfectly in the centre. 11 out of 10 for technique.
Thank you so much!
You can push the yolk to the centre of the frying pan with a spoon. It can be done easily. 😓 There's no need to separate the egg and the egg white.
My fav breakfast. I must go try it. Tks for sharing
Nice, cook for dinner tonight thk so much for the recipe.

Where can I get the sambal from or do you have the recipe?
Ours was a storebought Sambal! Unfortunately no recipe for it yet but we'll have one eventually :)
Wow , this is the most popular breakfast in our hawker, the secret is that brown paper , thanks for making this video.
Brown paper means good food for sure
best to go with sambal and green chilli

We usually soften bee hoon with cold water, not blanch or cook with boiling hot water. Makes a lot of difference.😓 You don't even need to add oil.
How many serving is this for
1!
Bihon onion garlic soysauce fish sauce sugar chicken powder oil bean sprout
oh cool. didn't know this was a breakfast in singapore.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner - we love our cheap hawker food!
You don't need to add sugar and fish sauce if you have added chicken powder.. hiaz....that was what went through my mind when i watched the video.
Wanted to spice it up a little 😅
Yummy ^^
i learn this then later caifan aunty wont call me xiao shuai ge anymore
From xiao shuai ge to lao ban... go support local hawker centres!
The sound of the videos is not good
indonesian bihun
No chilli
WAY TOO MUCH OIL! A person will DIE of fat 😰
Put lesser oil, don't worry or can air fry the toppings
How else do you expect food to be deep fried? 🙄
That fish sauce was 100% a NO NO
