I feed mine broccoli, cucumber and grapes, which they particularly love. I cut a grape in half, and it will be gone in a couple of hours. You can also keep rocks in a pond to grow algae and bio film on and then put those in the aquarium. When the rock is clean, take it out and put it back in the pond.
That is actually a super good idea! Thats really neat and Ill have to try that out c9me springtime, i never thought of that, thanks for checking out the video and the comment!
the crazy ones are normally flying foxes. They look very similar, but act completely different
I'm adding a pair of these to my molly and harlequin rasboras. I hope they don't end up being aggressive
I have three. Love them. They are derpy. I have one that is stunted
Appreciate you checking out my video and im so happy you enjoy owning these fish! And sometimes the derpiest fish are better than normal fish🙂
another great fish. might get one soon for a bba problem
They will help you out for sure! I think they are super underrated, kinda cool like a bigger pencilfish
Do they eat brown algae on my glass?
Ive seen them peck on algae on glass. But they never linger to long, its probably more difficult for them to tear it free. I think their mouth was more so designed to pull algae off of natural things and not glass, appreciate you checking out my vid!
Is it normal for them to shimmy??? I’ve got a brand new one I took time to accumulate it and it shimmies . It eats and everything but yeah 😮
Yes that is normal, its a grazing fish. But since its new it may be a little more shy with its movements, but in time you will notice it swiming faster and more comfortably in the aquarium! Enjoy your new fish!
That’s a species that I want to get! My Chinese algae eaters do a great job cleaning the tank, I actually lost one of my biggest c.a.e. To one of my red tiger Oscar’s that I used to keep…sold them, hard to keep tank mates with the Oscar’s. For some reason my notifications wasn’t turned on , I got that fixed, great species spotlight🙂👍🏻
Oscars are super difficult haha, I've found the best tank mate for algae control is the fish keeper haha
LakesRegionAquariums haha! True, I rarely clean any algae unless the front glass is really really bad😂
