Hi, thank You for the video. I’ve tried Your method. I’ve used the spray paint from can with exact number of color to match with my car’s color. But I didnt spray it directly on a car, I made few sprays to a cup and then I applied to a car with my finger - as was shown in video. The paint seemed a bit transparent and too much liquid, so I aplied 2 layers and then waited about ten minutes and then it was literaly IMPOSSIBLE to get the coulour out with the rotary pad 🙈 So how long time is best to wait? 3, 5 minutes? Is the colour cured, when you begin to polish it, or is it still sticky to touch ? Thank You!
There's a similar kit I've used on the front of my last black car. One part was thick black pain, 2nd part was remover. The paint sat in the chips and hid them.

I know for a fact that the road rash on the lower doors will not last especially on a Porsche. This is a patented method called SSR sprayless scratch repair. I have been doing this for 14 years. It is effective, but the camera lies a bit because it does not pick up everything. SSR is out of Texas and has been around for at least 17 years
Bigger rock chips on a metallic car, will this work you think? I think the color difference might be just a little too big when theres no clear coat. But maybe if I mix clear coat, thinner and harender and rub it on and buff off. Have you tried this?
May have been asked already but there are too many comments to scroll through… Can this be done with touch up paint that is supplied by the manufacturer? Like the ones in the tubes with base and clear coat on each end?
amazing ! I have scratches where someone has used a coin on my doors and bonnet, but not deep, I may give this method a try thanks for sharing ! P.S Could I use an aerosol solvent paint by spraying into the paint lid to get enough liquid paint, then use my fingers to rub in ?
That’s brilliant, can’t wait to try. Quick question re: the polishing pad, do you have to wash it afterwards in any special solution to remove elements of the paint ?
Foam pads can be maintained dragging a screwdriver across a DRY pad at high speed. This will remove the abrasives/foreign material in the pad. Careful to angle the bit so it’s not too aggressive OR pointing into the rotation. Haven’t tried on wool or terry cloth, but it works great on foam.
2 stage metallics are very difficult to get good results doing any kind of touch up work to be honest. Some better than others. Often I just use the ground coat
@cvrpov By two stage do you mean any car with a metallic base and clear? Thats what i have, light colour too on my 97 lexus. Trying to find a work around bc the last owner "touched" in about a dozen chips and a deep key scratch and they've all come out a darker shade AND theyre not flush at all just painted chips. Maybe a rush job and not a proper paint match. Might try adding hardener letting it sit in the lid for a few mins and trying the card swipe method as well as the crown and wet sand method. One chip at a time and see what works...
@@pixelbath2131 Thanks, that sounds like it might work. My plan is to simply carefully place a layer or two of (metallic) color paint into the chip "hole", then fill with clear and sand down with 1000 then 2000, then polish. these chips are about 2 - 5 mm diameter
Would this be a feasible way to also apply more clear coat along the wheel arches? In an attempt to build thickness and minimize future chips that go all the way through to the metal?

I had to try and remove it again with the 2000 grit and then use the cutting polish after. A little improvement but still could do with another touch up. Where did I go wrong?
