Was für eine Machtdemonstration von Rob Cross. Der ganze Hype um Taylors letztes Spiel hat ihn mal so gar nicht gestört. Er hatte im Turnierverlauf zwar ein wenig Glück, aber das wusste er dann auch konsequent zu nutzen. Und wer im wichtigsten Spiel des Turniers eine solche Leistung abrufen kann, der hat sich den Titel auch redlich verdient. Ich konnte Taylor noch nie sonderlich leiden, aber den 9 Darter hätte ich ihm wirklich gegönnt. Der Kommentator sagt darauf (er denkt wohl ein Zuschauer hätte Taylor mit reinrufen irritiert) er hätte den Typen (war ja Cross) von der Security nach draußen befördern sollen. Wäre bestimmt lustig geworden beim WM Finale :-D Gemäß dem Kommentator kam es wohl schon vor, dass Taylor durch die Security störende Zuschauer aus der Halle werfen lassen hat

Dann noch zwei Highfinishes zum Setgewinn. 107 Avarage, 60% Doppelquote ... wenn der Kerl das halten kann werden wir noch viel Spaß an ihm haben! :)

Taylor tried everything he could to get in Rob's head but Cross still beat him up. Taylor was the greatest ever, but he showed poor character when he was getting beat. I have to say I didn't think Cross would go on to dominate darts like a lot of people thought after this. MVG had a ridiculous number of darts at doubles to knock him out in the semis, and Cross, although he held his nerve pretty well, was quite lucky to get through that. I always thought MVG would continue dominating and he pretty much has, he's a level above, but Cross became my favourite player that year.
Ich glaube, nach diesem Spiel war der Darts-Hype bei mir vorbei. Warum genau weiß ich nicht, der Rücktritt von Taylor und Elmar & Shorty nicht mehr als Kommentatoren haben auf jeden Fall dazu beigetragen.

Good luck to Cross was brilliant last night , but I was suprised he put him on par with van gerwin ??? Big players got beat early and if gerwin hit his doubles we wouldn't of been talking about him , but not taking nothing away from Cross played well
The photographers were a bit much. How many times did they want Cross to kiss that trophy. Simple win and Taylor great player also knowing when to call it a day.
