In “Journalism, Technology, and Well-Being,” the Hidden Compass co-founders sit down with esteemed guests Lauren Leader, Lissa Soep, and Gina Masullo to discuss humanizing digital platforms, navigating online incivility, and fostering well-being.
    MEET THE PANELISTS
    Lauren Leader, Founder & CEO of All in Together. Lauren has dedicated her life and career to advancing women in business and politics. Her writing and thought leadership appear in a wide range of publications including USA Today, New York Times, Washington Post, Politico, The Hill and many more. In addition to her leadership of All In Together, Lauren works with a wide range of institutions to advance civic participation, women’s leadership, and social good.
    Lissa Soep, Senior Editor for Audio at Vox Media and Former Special Projects Producer and Senior Scholar-In-Residence at YR Media (formerly Youth Radio). Lissa has produced award-winning radio stories for NPR and other outlets. Since 2020, she has edited narrative podcasts with Vox Media and has established the Vox Media Podcast Network Audio Academy. For six years, Lissa was a part of the Youth and Participatory Politics research network, a group of scholars aiming to shift the paradigm on how we understand and promote youth civic life in digital times.
    Gina Masullo, Associate Professor in the School of Journalism and Associate Director of the Center for Media Engagement at the University of Texas Austin. Gina’s research focuses on how the digital space both connects and divides people and how that influences society, individuals, and journalism. She is the author of Online Incivility and Public Debate: Nasty Talk and The New Town Hall: Why We Engage Personally with Politicians. Previously, she spent 20 years as a newspaper and online reporter and editor.
