- Today we take our new Trailmaster MB200 and pull the stock 196cc engine off. We upgrade it with the fully built Tillotson 225cc engine. We install a motorcycle gas tank, hd foot pegs, and super pipe exhaust. This bike is crazy fast. We topped it out a 58mph and we are certain it would do over 60mph. 60 mph... thats crazy!! I'm 54 and I have rode my share of go carts and mini bikes in the mid 70s to early 80s... none of them were that crazy fast....
The only thing meaner than that Tillotson 212 is Lonnie. Lonnie can flat out RIDE!!!!!!

Just bought a mb200 for $300 while picking up a ct200ex for $300, I didn’t know what I was buying just that it had rear suspension and ran/drove. Holy cow that was a score.

EXCELLENT instructional video here. Makes it easy for us noobs to follow along. These mods you did are all the smartest mods you can do. Those are my favorite type of footpegs too, in my dirt riding experience. That is a really neat way you did the gas tank and the welding and pipe cutting. Awesome.

It would fun to watch you do a souped up mud motor, for boats. They are all air cooled with engines from popular manufacturers.
Nibbi Carbs makes a good carb/cable combo that is AMAZING quality, like I mean show room amazing, and isn't stupid expensive.
Mirror finish parts, mostly aluminum and steel construction, very well made.

I was thinking the same. They no longer do the front disc brake which sucks but easy enough swap out. the 420cc be rad, just need the bigger converter
Geez, that thing is torquey and fast after the engine swap and mods, plus I like the engine sound! I just want mine to have low end torque for trail riding and perhaps not so much top speed.

Hey Greg get a Yellow spring in there for me and see if it improves the driven pulley. Another guy mentioned a 7 inch pulley conversion.
Only had one go 62 but we put a 10 hp Honda with just clutch and straight chain wildly dangerous but fun
Thats the biggest Drimmel i've done ever seent! lol Can't wait to get my hands on a 225 tilly. The only reason I'm sticking to a 212 hemi is I'm utilizing the factory electric start and added high output charging coils to run lights and a horn and whatnot. The power gains might make me do the change.
I wire up a 12v DeWalt battery adapter and use a 7ah generic dewalt battery off Amazon to power everything on my mini bikes and go karts. Battery lasts HOURS with led headlights, taillights and led strips underneath. Plus, it's extremely easy to remove and charge the battery
@@taviskaczanowski3924 Thats basically how mine was wired up for a while. Getting tags on the bike here soon. Titled as a custom motorcycle (makes insurance expensive) Which is another reason I've got it setup for a proper charging system. Kinda a slouch out of the hole but will go 60-65 at 7k rpm. Mainly this was a project to see if I could make a legit "mini bike" Aka mini motorcycle lol
I'd still run it on a battery. Mount a spare battery holder somewhere, you'll have a solid 6 hours at least before you need a recharge.... when will you ever run a mini bike for 6 hours straight?!
@@taviskaczanowski3924 one day on my tachometer I'd clocked 11ish hours throughout the day. Just different strokes for different folks I'd say.

I chose this over a tw200, just don't see giving almost 6k for a bike unchanged since the 80's.
That "Maniac " in the white SUV "Road-Hogged" & almost DUSTED the Test-Pilot. It sure is a shame when "bubble-gum licensed " drivers can't Respect a Good Guy just tooling around on the roads; testing out his "Way-Kool-Supped-up" mini-bike. What is the world comming to? I’ve been dreaming of taking my mb200 to another level and this is awesome. But do you guys have any plans to do a Lifan 250 cc engine. I’d love to see that.
RBG I wanted to see a Gravy Bones rip. I'm 6'2" 270lbs. and have been looking for something like this to climb a 1/2mile 500' trail up to my deer food plots.
You might want the turbo diesel he built. You won't get there fast, but I would bet that you would get there.

Do you have any idea if the 225rs long block is the same as the long block on this performance engine? I can never seem to catch this in stock. Thanks for making so much great content I have learned a lot.

Let's get that GPS 180 foot peg mod!! I'm surprised you didn't.
Finally a trailmaster mb200-2 done right they didn't screw up the gearing for once left it stock and achieved near 60 mph just up the front sprocket to a 12 to 13 tooth then it will hit 60 to 65 mph with their current setup on that mini bike. Just imagine if they put a 420 duromax or predator without the electric start system setup the same way as the tillotson 225 is setup that thing could possibly do 70 mph with 40 series clutch and driven pulley swaped in place of the stock ones.

ever have trouble with your chains tagging the driven pulley? ever used 40 o ring chain on either the mb 200-2 or the bt 200x?
I assume you could probly make one street legal pretty easy... what a cheap and easy parts to find vehicle for the summer..I know I could learn and it's not hard but I need tools..so cool to me what you can do..my scooter jst had the battery die...I'm craving 2 wheels today

If it already has a seat and the frame isn't totally rusted out I say go for it. And if its for your son I'm assuming 12 or under id slap a predator 212 with an ebay torque converter. All in with new chain around 700
@@bigbaby1177 check the steering most are completely wore out and try to jerk and flip you at high speeds but not running $200 at most unless its a spiderbox then $400 is a deal.
My wife was like dammm that's freaking fast when Lonnie got on the road. I was like hell u ride (one of our son's best friends bike) nearly the same size as urs. Dunno what kind of motor he has its nearly the same thing u got Greg. I rode it and I was like dammm it's fast. I went around the block passed neighbors and they was like dammm that's Jesse. I dragged a good friend that's a cop. And I said can u clock the speed and he did. It went 49 miles an hour. I told friends that are the parents and they was like how fast. I said hell I weigh like 265 I am 6'5" and he has foot pegs like the one I have. I told him u build me the exact same thing including the motor. And I want the handle bars like u have Greg. End he showed me a pair of bicycle handlebars and I said I'll take them. He said he will have it ready for this weekend.
I have mine a month ago and it's freaking fast. Does struggle going up hills. I put a different gear and it climbs hills good.

What do you think about this vs. a 250 hawk for $1800? It's 230cc and street legal. I know two different things but the hawk is starting to look like a deal to me. It's got gears it will do like 70.

Hi Red My mb200-2 stock engines output shaft is over 1/2" longer than a Predator. How long is the output shaft on that Tillotson? Did it line up ok with the stock clutch?
Couldn’t you use 1/8 plate for the foot led braces and make a T to strengthen it?

I built mine with a Stage 2 Wildcat 223, geared for short tracking but now I'm worried about the structural integrity of the bike. First the seat fell apart, then the pegs.....that seems like a warning sign..... I have a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder in one hand and a for sale sign in the other!
Dont give up dude! Those foot pegs are weak but its easy to replace them with good ones

I ended up ordering a footped repositioning kit from GPS. Its made out of bigger square tubing then the stock peg bar. Then I ordered some cast steel foot pegs off amazon. It was a huge improvement in ride comfort and it looks beefier
