Great recs for sure, especially Nile, Spectral Wound and Fleshgod Apocalypse for me.
Regarding the ,,Anti-Fascist Black Metal"... for me it's exactly like ,,fascist black metal", i put them in the same boat and i think politics of any kind should not be present as a movement in metal. This is a escapist genre of music, it's like reading a SF book or watching a horror movie where you just enjoy the gore and the blasphemy and that's it.

+1 for Simone Simons. I was so afraid Simone just offers Epica-like she would compose herself... We would have chances to have a low quality records then.
Thankfully she decided to ask Arjen Lucassen to help her for the music and he helped her at a point we could rename the album Arjen Lucassen - Vermillion lol I love Lucassen so it does not bother me ans I really like the risk Simone took here by singing with a different type of music. As you said : it is dark, there is electronic sample, a bit prog sometimes (well... Arjent Lucassen) and the results is great. + the lyrics are not so bad and really accurate to what we are facing as Humans ("RED" for example).
Vermillion won't probably be in my top 10 of 2024 but it is definitely a good opus to listen to !

Opera from Fleshgod Apocalypse might be my album of the year ! I haven’t had the time to listen to Spectral Wound new album but I loved A Diabolical Thirst so I’m excited to discover this new album !

Not for me I'm afraid this week. Dawn Treader is quite interesting so will give it another listen. Never got into Nile, and I'm surprised you like it because you normally like catchy stuff. Simone Simons is nearly good the sound is good but the songs never really get going and aren't catchy enough.
Looking forward to the metal history videos. Have to catch up on your old ones.

That new Spectral Wound album is a very strong contender for Album of the Year.
New Nile isn't too bad. I'm not a big Death Metal enthusiast but it's solid.

i honestly don't hear death metal parts or sections in simone and arjen lucassen's album.. yeah there are a few grunts here and there done by alissa and mark from epica. I guess you meant that. But yeah, loving the album and the electronic and industrial vibes. it sounds a lot like an Ayreon record to be honest, but that's ok to me I'm a big fan of Ayreon anyway :)

I need to check out the Fleshgod Apocalypse out. Nile album is a monster and Demiser on order. Oh, and I like the history videos. I got my interest in history and archaeology from Iron Maiden, so I love to see others geek out on history used in Metal

My issue with this "anti-fascist black metal" label is that it really doesn't tell us anything about the music, and the songs themselves don't seem political in nature, so therefore the label is completely superfluous and just there to draw attention. According to their Bandcamp page, the album is about "Cycles of life and death, grief and glory, hope and melancholy”. How is that "anti-fascist"?
