Michael Yammerino has a great hybrid-hack multimeter stand, check out his video:
• How to hack a digital ...
I bought it some weeks ago, I would wait the ut61e+, but when I saw the input grade protection I must admit my doubts disappear.
Now after two weeks of work I can say is really good and I know it has only 3.5 digit, 6000 counts etc... all doesn't matter because I'm sure nothing wrong happening when I measure high voltage or amps.
The only thing I would change on it is limiting the buzzer sound on the diode mode to 0.800V as my fluke 289 does, anyway this is the only changes I would do.
Very satisfied with it, this time I must say great job uni-trend!
Tgx fir tge update.. I missed your original comment but appreciate the feedback!
You should have bought the 17B because Darren didn't mention that the 15B doesn't have Duty Cycle and Frequency (Hz) but he did say it doesn't have Temperature tough... for the price diff I would have went for the 17B
I just loved that Uni-T introduced to the PRO series a meter with 3 phase rotation indicator and NCV.
This is best multimeter review I saw, UNI-T always listen to customer and did right thing. Thanks Darren.
Thanks Jenny, UNI-T did a fantastic job with the UT15B PRO!!! I'm really looking forward to reviewing more great testing gear from UNI-T! 😃👍
It's rare to see such a good input protection in this price range and especially from UNIT(lately I have become a fan of Brymen :D ). Nice review for one more time!
Rare indeed and oh so appreciated! UNI-T did a-lot of things right with the UT15B! BTW, I will have a Brymen review coming next month!
Joe smith needs to put this new meter to his transient test.
Input protection looks decent and they state 8KV transient survival as well as intertek logo.
For home user, those meter should be able to survive 220VAC mains electricity on every mode (except amps of course).
Undoubtedly this is one of the best multimeters in the 50-100$ range as far as input protection 👍
This man is a natural entertainer....
I want you to autograph one of my meters... seriously
I would be honored 👍 Keep On Testing!

Man, a sweet looking meter! If I wasn't retired I'd snap this puppy up! Excellent Review, Darren. Do look forward to 'em.
It really is a snazzy dmm...almost perfect fit n finish! Thx for the kudos😄
Hey Darren, thanks for the review. My 17B Pro's continuity mode has literally no delay unlike yours. I'm not sure if it's your particular unit or what. I paid $90 AUD for this meter. I don't think anything in the price range can beat this thing. It's one hell of a rugged meter.
Hi Brian, thanks for the feedback.. glad to hear your continuity is better than my 15B. These are probably the best all around multimeters UNI-T has ever released...I too am super impressed 👏
@@KeepOnTesting Did you also notice when faced down, the rotary switch is protected by the protruding edges? I was surprised UNI-T finally got this right. Don't get me started on how easy to read the screen is. The beeper is louder than 61E and 139E. Heck, I think they got everything right on this meter!
@@Brian-uq6jm I totally missed that ! But yes you are correct.. As you say, they almost did everything right! . UNI-T deserves a boat load of sales with tbis multimeter. It's a testament to a company that really listened to the end users!
There’s new model UT15B Max. Hope to see latest review comparing both.
Hey man, great review again, cheers! I like this one, I think I'd still go for the UT191 though. Fingers crossed for a UT61E successor soon too
Cheers my friend !! UT61E is a great choice too .one of my favs!
** UT61E+ (plus) ** www.uni-trend.com/html/product/NewProducts/UT61%20161%20Series/UT61E+.html
I hope the up coming model of this line up will increase the capacitance test range, low z mode and ac+dc and a bargraph and auto hold = a perfect meter
Request : Please make a video on : DIY - shielding your multimeter.
Question: Why don't you show us the other side of any expensive multimeter chip?
I am hoping to have such a shielding review late September...stay tuned! I normally try to show both PCB sides, however, sometimes due to time constraints it just isn't possible. I will try to show more in upcoming reviews!
@@KeepOnTesting need to see how can I DIY my other tester
Hey Darren you have so many reviews it’s kind of hard to pick which one to buy. Which of all the budget multimeters would you recommend the most? In the below 30 euro mark. Thanks!
Sorry for the late reply..UNI-T UT890D+ also HABOTEST HT118A
Thanks, great review! Could you check the current draw of this DMM? At what voltage does the battery sign show up and when does it turn off? THANKS!
Very good looks
First like and first comment 🤣🤣, as always nice review sir
CONGRATZ! / Thx
Looking decent Darren. Great show of your uni-t collection.
Thx Derek..pretty sure yours is even better 😉 This is one sweet UNI-T !
Say nothing, can't afford to start a war 🤣
@@derektodd4126 🤣🤣🤣
Also sorry to see they nixed the bar graph as well as the Hz button, not a huge deal but in this price range you might expect to see these included.
The bargraph on my UT139E is utterly useless. They'd most likely add a useless bargraph anyway if they were to do it. The 17B Pro version does have frequency, duty cycle and temp measurements.
Now that is a really nice meter! Definitely not in the Cheapo range, though! Great review again, thanks Darren!
Definitely not a CHEAP-O! 😃👍
Great review! Not that it really matters, but that thing mounted into the back of the case isn't a light sensor for the backlight, its a flashlight.
Yes indeed! Light sensor is on the front...thanks for watching!😉👍
Ik have the idea that UNI-T multimeters also made in the Mastech factory? Mastech made for a lot of Chinese brands?
Thanks for the tip
I just want one cos of the name.
Its an absolute UNI-T!
Nice review,, pls take a look,, at the new uni T 161d+ seems good on paper..
@Schwalbe262 They are basically the same, but with CE certification for EU: www.uni-trend.com/html/product/NewProducts/UT61%20161%20Series/
⚠️UPDATE⚠️: I've tried to source the 161d+ from UNI-T but no luck as yet.. Work in progress.
Thanks for your great reviews! My english is not very good so I might missed some important information
If you could choose between UT195E, UT18B, UT15B and maybe UT191T.
Which one would you choose? Price difference is not so huge here (between 85 € and 99 €)
Thanks in advance
UT191T !! That was easy breezy my friend! It's the absolute best bang for buck in a multimeter and just such a great test instrument ! Btw your English is great 👍
@@KeepOnTesting Thank you very much for advice and your fast reply.
I've ordered the UT191T right now and I am very curious and happy to replace my basic multimeter (DÜWI Easy 7976)
@@dengo1982 Excellent! Let us know how you like the new UNI-T ! 😊
@@dengo1982 btw you will see a HUGE upgrade from your easy 7976 multimeter!!
wow... just.. woowww.. if only it has the accuracy of UT191T, it would be an awesome beast from Uni-T for sure.
Yes, its still within spec though, so thats a good thing 😄
@@KeepOnTesting yes, but honestly that UT191T accuracy was almost steal the show 😄 other than that, these Uni-T pro multimeters are awesome, very very seductive to put one of those to the buying list.. or two.. or three.. OMG 😍
@@radius.indrawan or four or five !
😉👍
@@KeepOnTesting sweeeetttt.. 😆
Love the backlight for this meter...does this meter has magnetic accessories, ?
No magnetic strap hanger included. I love the backlight too!
OH man, if I didnt already have the 191T id def. go for this one. Love that killer input protection, it rivals my Fluke 17B+ and so glad to see a no timeout backlight-!!! Too bad they gave up the IP65 rating, but unless youre working is an environment that requires it id make the trade-off just to get the input protection and no timeout backlight--!! This meter shows UniT is listening to us with a more on target version of an already great meter, and if that doesnt drive sales I dont know what will.
100% UNI-T Really did listen and it shows 👏 The automatic backlight works perfectly and is truly a godsend! That input protection is stellar and really does put this dmm in a top tier category 👌
Hello, I have the ut17B PRO model and when I measure a voltage around, let's say 5 volts, if I measure with the probes + with plus and - with minus, it gives me 5,003 volts, let's say, if I reverse the probes + with black and - with the red probe, it gives me another type value - 5.007 volts, so a difference of 4 millivolts inverse of the probe in DC (direct current).
Do you think it's normal? is it part of the tolerance of the device or is it defective?
Could you check something on yours if possible?
Its completely normal. Sometimes there is a small (negligible) error when probes are reversed in DC VOLTS. 👍
@@KeepOnTesting Thanks 🤗
Hello, It is normal for my multimeter ut17b pro with new batteries backlight are so dim that it seems almost invisible ?
No, the display should be quite bright. Check the batteries again. If still dim try cleaning the battery terminals that connects to the pcb.
how about the UT17B pro i like to see the comparison
I'm working on it...hoping to get one for a review shortly.
Diode test Open terminal voltage??
Hello sir . If we Compare with LOMVUM T28b/T28c , which multimeter is best in class 🤔🤔🤔
Are you asking me to choose between the T28B or T28C ?
Will the UT15B+ come with a bar graph?
No, I doubt UNI-T will add a bargraph in the future.. sure would be nice though.
This a 6000 count multimeter in the Fluke price range, if I am spending this much why won’t I get a Fluke, give me my 20000 counts atleast.
Gosh if only I haven't already bought my second UT191t a month ago ill definitely give this a try. #Regrets😢
Well, having two UT191T in your arsenal is a pretty sweet mix! Keep On Testing
@Schwalbe262 70-75US/90CDN
@Schwalbe262 Absolutely nothing ! I think the 191T is one of the BEST MULTIMETERS on the market today..at any price! I prefer having the Temp functionality but YMMV.👍
I am just not buying a multimeter this expensive without proper certifications.
Too bad no have NCV feature !
good
