Most of East Asian drama are like that, Japan starts the trend, then Taiwanese got it pretty good during the 2000s, Korean was about the same too, some T drama got very popular in Japan and Korea at the time, same thing happens from Japan and Korea, and these 3 East Asian countries were a big influence to the entire Asia back in 2000s.
But T drama lost its way after 2012, their team moved to China and the taste wasn't the same anymore, K drama went viral along with their K pop, K pop and K drama later influence China more than Taiwan does, and China just straight copy off from Korea, make everything look like Korean, Japan is very independent, they kept it to themselves and still being creative and build their own style, even though their market love Korean more nowadays,
We do realize the reality and drama, it's the westerners who seem to over-fantasize it and took it for real, I have seen so many western girls in college does that in US, then there are so many people online criticize these Koreaboos, I don't understand why your people hate Asians so much, racism is really bad in US and west, not all but I feel many people are hateful and lose their connection from reality, even though we have internet nowadays, western country is so strange, the way you take jokes are also weird, sometimes you're too serious sometimes you're doing it to hurt people especially their race, and there's no standard to that unlike in East Asia.
