14ppg as a rookie is solid and his buckets are dominant. He shows great athletic ability as well as fundamental ability. Welcome to Washington my friend.
Most underrated player in the draft...extremely high basketball IQ, always plays under control & makes the right decision, can do it all on both ends, and has the physical size, length, and athleticism to play 1 through 5 in today's NBA. Cleveland would be wise to make him the cornerstone of their franchise with the #5 pick to complement Collin Sexton (I have Reddish to NO at #4 because of fit). Teams will regret passing on this kid, he's the real deal and the main reason for Gonzaga's historic success this season.
He's like a mix of Kawhi Leonard and Tobias Harris. People are saying he can't play the 3 but he actually has the shooting touch. Very fundamentally sound, great Fiba player with Japan playing against men. Not bad on defense but got to improve, be more energetic and active. I hope the Lakers pull the trigger at 4. The time to be afraid of international players is gone. He's a future all-star.
@@Airestotle09 Haha, for sure. If he stays injury free moving forward and the coaching staff instills confidence in him, I still believe Rui can be a future All-star.
I don't understand why more people weren't talking about this guy? He's clearly got NBA potential and seems to be a very honest and hard-working player. What more could you ask for?
I didn’t even know who this guy was before the draft but damn he looks so polished already. His shooting form looks great for someone his height and his ball handling is not bad either. I think he’ll be a great player in the league
Yea he’s a lottery pick for sure and one of the many hidden gems outside of the top three. He’s a tweener since he’s a four but he’s built like a wing. Luckily he can hit a face up Jumper and has a three ball as well. he’s also a great passer in the halfcourt post as well as an adequate ball handler in transition. His midrange game is easily his greatest strength from day one and he has a passing gift. Also, a very underrated defender too. Reminds me of a more polished Julius Randle
Kambui Bomani I can actually see a little bit of kawhi Leonard in him. Plus I think his natural position is the 3 they made him play the PF because of injury’s on the Gonzaga roster. But I think he’ll be used as a guy who can play either position in the modern NBA
Hate to see these comments from uninformed people who have only seen a few Gonzaga games. Those who know him from Japan and his entire Gonzaga career know he is still improving inside a phenomenal athletic body. He is very similar to kahwi in physicality. He dribbles up court with the same stride as Scottie pippen. He is a question mark. But only in what is his ceiling. His athleticism alone will give him a decent career.
Japanese and Filipino people can ball they just usually don’t have the height needed for nba ball. This guy is gonna be really good with the right coaching. Improve his handle, refine his shot and teach him a few more post/iso moves and he’s an all star
He's like a mixture of Aldridge and Imbiid i can even see a young Giannis with a jumper too. Very quick for his height and a very solid midrange. Such a great pick for Washington 🔥
I believe Rui or RJ will be the most the most complete players out of this year's draft. I'm definitely pulling for Zion to showcase to people that he can compete against bigger talent. At least I believe he can...But I believe RJ and Rui will showcase their potential, this upcoming season.
I watched highlights of him before the draft. I was thinking Cam Reddish or Bol Bol. But I was like damn I want to somehow get that Hachimura dude, he looks and plays like Giannis Antetokoumpo. Now I am pumped for the Wizards!!! We could have had Bol Bol in the 2nd round! lol
I wish Scottie pippen would take him under his wing and teach rui NBA defense. He could be amazing defensively if he played anything near how Scottie played.
Haha when it gets to the Washington game, it might as well also be a Bill Walton reel because he's ALWAYS saying something batshit. "Did you have parents?" "That's his deal: long arms."
i like Zion totally but damn he is not the only potential super star look right here has the same moves like giannis damn get this one lakers ditch kuzma haha
Good to see Hachimura finally get some respect. All the Mock draft dudes had Hachimura not in the top 10 and some of the fools did not have him top 20. I wished he would of fell like Bol Bol so GS could of Drafted him. Like I said all along there will be alot of teams besides the top 2 picks that are going to fell stupid not taking Hachimura and thats Debatable I think he will be the best player in this draft.Just like Bol Bol I cant believe GS had 2 shots at him and they did not take Bol Bol, Hachimura,, is a steal at 9th pick, could be the steal of the draft, but Bol Bol 44th ? that could be the steal of the century. Good Luck Hachimura at least Wizards showed you some respect and I hope you Kick some ass for them.
I don't know if he will break the Asian basketball Stereotype since he is half black but I still want him to suceed. I hope asian basketball will get the respect it deserve someday.
Damn he's going to be good, he already has a go to move (turnaround), he can spot up or shoot off the dribble, he seems like a better than average passer, he can play the pick and roll, finish around the basket, he's athletic and he can shoot the 3 with good mechanics... oh and he plays defence? What can't he do? He makes me think of Kawhi, but with better fundamentals than college Kawhi... hope the Wizard shit hole of a team doesn't fuck up his development.
@@lashmeliodas58 I don't think he'll have problem extending his range. 41% 3P on limited attempts and 74% FT (79.5% the season before) shows that he does have the touch, just need to attempt more threes and add more arc to his shot. I'm actually more worried about his defense. He has the footspeed to keep up with smaller, quicker players as well as long wingspan (7'2) but he always looks so lethargic on the defensive end. Currently he can get torched by a lot of other SF in the league unless he actually improves his intensity on defense.
@@nikirfan6258 agree on the defense well rui is good for the Heat. But I think Nassir will be favored by the heat more considering he's from Florida and a Heat kind of a player.I would be excited if the heat picks rui too.
@@lashmeliodas58 Nassir Little is definitely a stud. His defensive ability and offensive potential are nothing to be sneezed at. The only reason why he didn't have gaudy stats like Zion, RJ and Morant is due to the fact that UNC plays in a system whereas Duke and Murray State allow their star recruits to be the focal points of their systems.
Jewel of Japan
I just wanna see Hachimura succeed in the NBA
EJ Deleoz I know he'll do that.

He did amazing yesterday man
He’s doing it now in the playoffs🔥

the energy the movement without a ball and his footwork is great, no question for a top ten draft
As a wizards fan I am so excited we got this guy
Joshua medrano me too

Rui's jumper is crispy.
I was a lil skeptical when the wizards drafted dude but after seeing these highlights I feel dumb for doubting him
Welcome to the Wizards big fella!

I want him to go to Spurs.
Corey Harris this didn’t age well
Corey Harris 😬
Hachimura had 20 and 7 boards against the Big 3!
Love the midrange shots

His game soo clean

Perfect fit for the Nets. Please 🙏🏾
Duuuuuuude, this kid should be #1 or #2 pick! He plays so smart and has great shot form. I predict he's gonna rise higher than the #1-#8 picks.
Even when he lands from a jump, he moves the right way so that he doesn't injure himself.
I hope you never become GM of any team haha
@@andyodvor2927 lol he hasn't really had the opportunity to shine yet.
This is one of the sleepers in the draft! I’m trying to decide if the Lakers should draft Culver, Garland, Hunter, or Hachimura
If he gets handles he could be a mix of a big small forward. Pj Washington plays the same way as well.
He dribbles a lot better than pj has some wiggle too just need more range.

Yes -- Jose Martinez
Aaron Judge - 6'7 282
i don't know about someone 6'8 who plays like a Center. He's good, but he'll take a long time to expand his game in the NBA (imo)

Nick Fan N he’ll be a good SF

looky of year2019
Next Giannis
i can see ewing in him
