HIDDEN Water leak is causing the ground to FLOOD around this pool!

This customer got in contact after noticing thier pool is dropping 1 inch in 24 hours. the ground around the pool is flooding causing the ground around the pool to be boggy.
We carried out a full leak detection on the pool and found numerous leaks that we repaired on the day! all carried out in one visit!

Why have they gone to such expense to put a reinforced concrete floating deck around the pool when it's all level ground? Normally wouldn't you just backfill with something that compacts nicely, instead of making a completely pointless cave.

Maybe the water table is high. I seem to have an issue with a normal patio around my pool on 'level ground' but we get so much rain it's sinking in places and breaking up
