Considering that the NGD is at least 5 years away,if not more, from keel laying and GRSE will be constructing the NGOPV till 2028, that leaves MDL without major construction orders. Since we can hardly leave the yard idle from 2025 until 2029, the navy should consider a repeat of the P-15Bs. Improvement in armament to perhaps 24 Brahmos ER and 48 Barak 8 may be considered. Not only will this will keep the yard occupied, but the navy will get a very useful type of warship and a good increase in its capabilities.
