      and a channel with great comparability because they always follow the same sequence. Sure not always the exact same distances, but comparable shots that give relevant information aside from the humoristic content. I'm just not sure what the prime value of the channel is: the usable review info, or the dry humour! XD

    • @biteme263
      @biteme263 4 роки тому

      Ya, I don't watch this channel for the marksmanship. You just do interesting stuff and seem to have a lot of fun doing it. That being said you guys are better shots than you give yourself credit for sometimes. I used to do a lot shotgun shooting and it isn't as easy as some would think. Most of them are not the most accurate things in the world, don't have great triggers and you get a lot of punishment from the recoil. And you are often shooting very weird stuff lol. And Danny is very good with bead sights. I couldn't make most of the shots he does without a scope.

    I shot a paper plate from 100m with a used pawn shop $350 smooth bore 870 wing master using cheap rio slugs and hit 3” from the center. It’s one thing to see you guys do it and another to get the same results yourself! I was confirming zero on my AR and though “what the hell” let’s try the 870, my buddy and I were so impressed! So naturally he tried to see if it was a fluke and sure enough he had similar results. The guy who owned it before me must’ve used it for hunting, he did a great job sighting it in. Sans Handlebars Nice! Sounds like some nicer gear than I had. You could buy extra parts for more variety but only ever got the setup for 12 gauge. I grew up in rural South Dakota, so a kid was pretty much the oddball if he didn’t shoot. I learned shooting with my dad’s 12 gauge and grandpa’s 30-06 and 308. Maybe that explains my trick shoulder that locks up on occasion 🤔😂

    He's one of those guys that you could give any gun, give him two practice shots, and he'd wear out whatever target you wanted. That he's a cool dude to boot is bonus!
    People, this channel has consistently produced top notch quality episodes for YEARS now. Jeff and company are good people who are very entertaining as well as informative, but they're a rarity too - not the usual guys trying to prove how tacticool they are or how they're grizzled killing machines or whatever.

    9:51 Badass catch of the shell from Danny

  •  4 роки тому

    The energy required to set a slug spinning when it is in contact with rifling does account for some parasitic energy loss, this was compounded further by parasitic aerodynamic energy loss. A slug that derives its spin purely from aerodynamics also loses some energy, but the spin rate was much less and none of the loss occurred at the muzzle, hence the energy loss was somewhat less.

  • @Thorsaxe777
    @Thorsaxe777 6 років тому +1

    Jeff, I a feeling that BPI has been watching us with the Russian casting that Cookie and I have been putting out, a serious flaw that has been revealed with your slow-motion photography is the separation of the tailwads from the projectile and how detrimental that is to accuracy. I'm not saying that the Gulandi DGS slug is of poor design because of the Italian slug or (Fire hydrant) is somehow better, it is because we have found a way of making sure that the tailwad is seated properly before the loading process. Your show is an added benefit from a loading point of view on the bench. You, Danny and Greg make things possible for us to see what happens when the slug leaves the muzzle and the dynamics of ballistic interference goes through its process. You have a great show. thanks for the combined work from all of you and the Guys. Dave.

      I was kind of expecting to see some tail separation on these because there's hardly anything to keep them together. Just a smooth plastic stud in a smooth lead cavity. Thanks the nice words Dave!

      Nah. It's his IG ID for his side hustle as a Owens Corning salesman.

    4" at 50, 4 shots with first try hand loads and an off center red dot. Nothing to apologize for. I nave had slug loads go from 5" at 25 to 1" at 25 due solely due to a change of wad, and 6 grains of powder. I am going to try a box of these for sure.

      @taofledermaus  6 років тому +3

      Yeah, I don't know why I was knocking it. My powder recipe was just a guestimate (based on other slugs the same weight) and it was a light load- Danny just had surgery and I didn't want to be too hard on him!

      @@taofledermaus yep, even the column height and roll crimp depth can alter the slug flight at the last second out of the muzzle. If I were Danny, every shot would have been off a lead sled

    12 people disliked this. Why would they watch the whole video then hit dislike? Perhaps someone is purposely flagging your vids. There is nothing in your videos that could be construed as worthy of being flagged as de monetised content. Unless someone is reporting you to satisfy their own agenda.
    Who reports ballistic science as inappropriate content? Like really?
    PS Danny is a really good shot.
