- Quilt As You Go: Binding A Large Quilt
In this tutorial we finish putting the binding around our Sawtooth Star Quilt. This tutorial teaches you how to make the binding from start to finish. This quilt has been a lot of fun to make and I am glad that it is finally finished. This quilt took almost 6 months to complete and everything was done using the Quilt As You Go Method. I used sashing strips to attach my blocks, rows and borders.
I used my AccuQuilt Go Big Electric cutter to cut the strips for the binding as well as my AccuQuilt 2 1/2" cutting die. I love the way it cuts each piece of fabric so precise.
I also used my Binding Baby to keep my binding nice and straight and up off of the floor. I never do quilt binding without my Binding Baby.
The finished quilt size is 52" X 64"
It is a nice throw size quilt, just in time for the Fall Season. I hope you enjoyed making this quilt as much as I did.

I don't know if you ever see these comments since this is more than a year old but I just completed my first ever t-shirt quilt for a Christmas gift. I used your sashing and binding techniques and am so happy with this king size quilt. Is it perfect? Nope. But it is one fabulous piece of useable art that tells a story in the t-shirts. I sure hope my adult son appreciates it. I can't wait to make another smaller one at some point. Your tutorials were so clear and I had no problems following them. Thank you so much!
