Some instructors teach to shift your weight from your back leg to your front leg before the downswing, but it looks like she just rotates her hips. I didn’t see a lot of weight shift to the left leg.

      Hi Kyle,
it's a fair comment and a lot of instructors do emphasise the weight shift (to a certain extent lateral shift). However, it's difficult to know what happens to a golfers weight distribution unless they are hooked up to some relevant biomechanics software. I would say that a lot of top pros don't have an obvious lateral shift in the downswing, but they do have a lot of rotation through the downswing and into the follow-through. The action Minjee has here keeps the right hip high in the early and mid-downswing stage and her right side stays nice and tall but she still retains the lag in her hands and the right forearm keeps that right wrist bend whilst the right arm keeps a nice extension away from the body.
There a lot of players now who show that the hips don't need to have much lateral move in the downswing and that the load can be kept in the arms late into the downswing. It's still an individual pattern so a prescriptive response from coaches may not help everyone (especially if a player has their pattern already ingrained). The lateral shift of a lot of good players is within quite tight margins now, but it's still an individual thing from player to player (and worth seeing what the right leg does in the backswing beforehand!). It's always worth choosing a player to use as a 'model swing pattern' that matches some of what you do already (in my opinion). Thanks for the interesting comments as always, Best wishes
      Michael
