    This is the singularly best instructional video I have seen on the internet. There is not a 5 minute long talking introduction about needless information; it has close up shots; the instructions are tight, and you didn't bobble or mess around while doing the work. The camera angles actually show what you are doing. I wish you would re-make every single instructional video on the internet! You rock!

    These types of videos are why I love UA-cam. I've been frustrated by my fob for quite awhile and didn't realize it would be so simple to change the battery. Once I got the battery (thanks to the comments) it only took about 5 minutes to replace after following the simple instructions in this video. Thanks for posting this - it was exactly what I needed!

    Very helpful video. It's a CR2025 battery. old one should be recycled since lithium should not go in landfills.

    I am a beneficiary of your time and effort, thank you for putting this out for us. almost 22,000 views and only 108 thumbs up. it says something about people. (and 5 people need an owners manual for youtube). thanks again!

    Thanks for taking the time to do this. It's a lot easier to watch someone do it than looking over the manual. Very simple. And I'd add the advice of looking for a good deal for the batteries. I got a 5 pack of Amazon for $6. The batteries last 5-10 years unused and I found that about a year of heavy use if when the "low battery" sign pops up in the car. So, perfect.

    Magic!!! I feel pretty tickled that I was able to do this myself. Perfect instructions!
    Pro-tip if you try this: I had a set of tiny flat head screwdrivers, and one worked much better than the others. If you're having trouble getting the tabs ajar, your screwdriver might actually be too small. :)

    • @Around_The_Home
      @Around_The_Home  7 років тому +1

      Robin, thank you for the insight and it makes sense. If the blade of the screwdriver is too small, it won't provide the leverage needed to separate the two pieces.

      Good planning Luc. But if you are out and about and the battery dies on you, just pull the manual key from the fob. The manual key will unlock the door and, once you take the cover off the ignition switch, the manual key can be used to start the car.

    • @Luke-san
      @Luke-san 7 років тому

      Yup, thx, seen it and the sales guy explained it. But knowing that it will happen on a Saturday afternoon , Sunday or on holiday I'd rather have one in the car somewhere.
      Rather order a nice genuine Varta online for like 4 euro (5 US dollar) than having to go to a dealer or another store wasting fuel and paying 4 times the price.
      Thx for the video. I love youtube. It really makes our life easier.

      +Phil Udall
      Phil, thank you for the comment. Regarding battery size, I intentionally did not specify the type of battery because manufacturers have been known to switch the batteries they use and they have been known to use different batteries in different areas of the globe (e.g. AsiaPacific vs Eastern Europe). You should be able to look at the battery currently installed in your key fob and determine the specific battery you need. My car came with two key fobs. So I opened one, noted the battery I needed and used the other to drive to the store to buy the replacement batteries.
