I personally think he’s more a singer than a rapper but he’s so versatile haha They said yesterday during their little BSS fan meeting that since DK sings the main part during the chorus meanwhile Seungkwan does adlibs, Hoshi couldn’t just stand there and do nothing so Bumzu (one of their producers with Woozi) told him to do anything on the mic and he just went “gyeaaah” during the recording !! It turnt out so well and he does it so nicely live too they’re so fun and talented~ You should really do the rolling stone performance you’ll be surprised~ I don’t know if you have ever listened to Hoshi’s solo “Spider” but you should, his voice is one of my favorites in the group 😁
You're right. Hoshi is more of a vocalist (singing is his strength even though he can rap a bit). Even by official positions, his second main position is "vocalist" in the group. Hoshi's vocal range is amazingly great.
Actually, Youngji started out a rapper, not the other way around. She started her career by winning high school rapper 3. She also recently won unpretty rapstar as the first ever female to do so. So she is quite impressive!
if i had to choose i personally feel like hoshi is more of a singer than a rapper in seventeen songs, but he raps often (and well) enough to count him as one lol everyone in seventeen basically does everything tbh edit: OH YEAH rolling stones performance is amazing
Hoshi is an outstanding vocalist in the group. Just like Taemin, he can handle singing and dancing without any problems. Hoshi's strengths in seventeen are his dancing and singing abilities (although he can rap a bit, singing is more of his strength). His vocal range is amazingly great. Hoshi's an all-rounder ❣️.
Woozi actually wrote/arranged and produced the song along with Bumzu, Seventeen's original voice trainer; and he even makes a cameo during Youngji's rap, dressed up as a race driver (his helmet hides his face), as do Boo, DJ and Hoshi. You just have to watch for them. They have a 2-part video parody series: 1) their presentation to Pledis management on why BSS needed a comeback along with their meeting with Wooji asking for a song; and 2) their coming up with choreo requiring a "pro dancer" to help them. I laughed until I cried all the way through all three, especially when they start bickering in Part 2, and their FAKE "drunk" scene (they were drinking water, which you figure out when Hoshi says he'll buy the next round and refills their sujo bottle with the water dispenser!) I love these guys...they have such sweet hearts, positive energy and pure innocence is so many ways. Have you seen the video released last week of DK surprising a fan by picking her up, taking her to a coffee shop where he feeds her a meal he cooked himself; and then he gives her an expensive "gift" (don't want to spoil it all) along with a hand written letter? I cried all the through it. Do you know of any other Kpop idol doing that?? It was SO SWEET. Thanks for giving BSS a reaction. Excellent commentary. ❤

Woozi, Park Kitae and Bumzu was the producer/composer for fighting and it should be included in hang;garage album together with Left & Right but they set it aside coz it sounds like BSS thus then it was arrange by S.coups and Hoshi while lyrics were done by our gag trio booseoksoon, woozi and youngji.. I really enjoyed listening from you, hope you also listen to Lunch and 7pm by BSS.. I bet you'll goanna love it ❤❤

Hoshi deffinately sings more than he raps for svt but he does do both so i get how maybe you might not have known that (Although he sings in both Darling and -World which you have heard, maybe you didn't quite know them yet?). The people with composition rights are Woozy Bumzu, Park Kitae, SCoups and Hoshi, and all of BSS, Yeongji and Woozy have credits for the lyrics.

I have just recently got into 17 and I am so happy you have already reacted to their songs. I started with BSS in watching their music awards performances where other groups are really appreciating them. Aside from their obvious talent and skills, their interaction with the crowd and even with the band. You know they are the best clown unit when they were able to make the band laugh and interact with them.
Hoshi loves rap but he's actually not a rapper (never has been one, though he likes to do it for fun and in his solos). his official position in SVT is lead vocalist, same as Woozi :D technically his positions are: performance unit leader, main dancer, lead vocalist, and sub-rapper. tiger boy has a finger in every pie :D he was meant to be in the vocal unit but they really needed him to lead the performance unit and he couldn't be in both because that wasn't SVT's concept. so he's actually the only lead vocalist who's not in the vocal unit (the other one being Woozi, who, similarly, was supposed to be in the perf unit but they needed him to lead the vocal unit! so basically Hoshi & Woozi switched when they were finalizing their positions). but yeah, Hoshi is always singing in SVT's songs and he gets decent lines too :) and he loves singing, he's sang in solos and covers too.
i agree so much on what you said. producers really should keep the comfort and ability of the singers in mind. something so sad in kpop is that you can literally see the fear and anxiety on some of their eyes when they're live (on encores and stuff) and they're approaching their lines or highnotes more often than not they just panic and not do it or fail to do it. the bullying of netizens and fandoms on "bad singers" can sometimes be too much :"(

Youngji is a rapper actually. That's how she became a celebrity by winning High School Rapper when she was a teenager. She's popular for her amazing rap skills. But she just also happened to have a good singing voice maybe that's why you thought she's more of a singer.
about youngji (I'm not an active fan of hers, I'm a big time carat and I really like her so I know some stuff, will probably go deeper sooner or later, but anyways), as much as she does have a great personality and entertainment skills, that's not where she began. she was a rapper from the beginning, she went on the programme "high school rapper" and that's where she began to gain fame. so yeah, I do agree that she's a great entertainer but first of all she's a rapper

It's hard to pick which one to suggest, but most reactors start with Holy War, live from Zepp in 2020. That's probably the best place to start, but anything live from them is amazing.
