Madonna turns 62 years old today. For the occasion I listened to her original version of "Borderline". It has been quite a long time since I gave it a spin and for the first time it occurred to me how much it reminded me of The Supremes' sound and how I would like to hear Diana Ross have a go at it. Then I poked around and found this cover by Duffy. It is a nice acoustic take with a light tinge of reggae. But imagine my surprise when at the 2:30 mark she suddenly breaks into "Someday We'll Be Together", The Supremes' 1969 hit, and their last number one. Check out my Facebook page. Cover version of the day.
