    Looking at the face of Damon @ 0:18 (his number btw) you can tell he was in awe of Jeter right there, and mighty proud of his ex teammate. This really personifies Jeter's career. He just seems to have the knack to rise to the occasion. Somehow you think he will find a way to go out in style at the end of this year.

    I watched this game live. Jeter went 5-for-5 and was key in the Yankees win. And at the end of the day, the Yankees win meant more to him than his 3000th hit. It's that same thing with Judge. He may achieve something great, but what matters to him is the team. As it should be for any Captain.

    2nd half of 2011 season was a resurgence of Jeter. 2010 season, he declined double plays after double plays when he hits. 2012 is one of his best season. Not until he got injured vs the Tigers in ALCS. If he didn't get injured, he can still play 3 more seasons.

    What shocked me is that he was the first Yankee overall to have 3K hits! I thought for sure Berra, Mantle or DiMaggio would have had the record! Pretty amazing feat for a guy the same age as me. Crazy to think a guy born 2 months before me is a living legend and retired from doing what he loves. What a life to have!

    • @SuperReviews4you
      @SuperReviews4you 10 років тому +3

      hildenbrandt21 Yankees season tickets for a season or a ball that could be worth up to a million dollars. Barry Bonds ball went for around 750,000 and you know the Derek Jeter 3,000 hit home run ball would be worth just as much if not more to certain Yankee fans. You could put your kids through college and buy a new house with that much money.

    • @hildenbrandt21
      @hildenbrandt21 10 років тому +6

      ***** or you consider the fact that it means more to Jeter than it would to any fan. Imagine being in Jeter's shoes and having to pay a fan part of your salary for something you earned. I'm guessing you aren't a Yankees fan, any true fan would WANT Jeter to have the ball, he deserves it.

    • @SuperReviews4you
      @SuperReviews4you 10 років тому +3

      hildenbrandt21 So imagine being in a players shoes who was making 17 million and would have to pay a portion of 17 million dollars for a baseball. I must feel so bad for him.
      It means a lot to Jeter but that doesnt mean selling the ball is the wrong choice.

    You know what sucks. We bought Yankee tickets before the season and I missed his 3000th hit.... By one fucking game. I was at the game the day after this. My I guess watching sabathia throw a 3 hit shut out was cool

    the pitch was given to him. a 78 mph pitch right over the plate? it was generous. but he should have earned it. not given a home run

      Steven Gallo Do you think David Price wanted to throw it there? No pitcher ever wants to give up a home run but you make a mistake and that's what happens.

      Guess what? Pitchers don't always throw the ball where they want to. Hanging breaking balls aren't that uncommon, but I guess it's only "given" when it's Derek Jeter. Plus, how often do you see hitters not hit home runs when they get good pitches to hit (such as a base hit, or lining it right to someone, or flying out because the timing/swing was just slightly off)?

      Steven Gallo Look at Price's reaction and try to convince me that Price wanted to give up that home run.
