She is from Holland her mother is from South Africa and she now lives in South Africa. Her singing began with winning Hollands Got Talent when she was 9 years old. She speaks Dutch, English and Africanus. She sings in about 10 languages including a few African tribal languages. The day they filmed this she was sick with 102 temp. they shot the video anyway and a day later when she was well they recorded her again and dubbed it back in and that is the problem. It is a real performance. The choir is the Miznari Youth Choir and she has done many performances with them over several years. This is and excerpt to the streaming concert "An African Christmas with Amira and Friends".
The whole concert was recorded with all participants there, but Amira and the tenor who sang a couple of duets with (both of those are on UA-cam) went down with very sore throats. They managed to record all but one song- this one and it was days later before Amira was able to to do vocals for it.. the online date had to be put back a few days as a result. You will notice if you watch the final song duet that you can't hear the tenor hardly if at all compared to his gorgeous voice in their other duet. That's because his throat had given out by then! It was a beautiful concert. The Mzansi choir are fabulous. Amira had sung with them quite a few times. You will find them on UA-cam. They are an international award winning choir from South Africa and have travelled abroad to perform.
Her father is Dutch, She was born and raised in the Netherlands. Her mother, and that side of the family are from South Africa, Amira visited SA quite regularly. For the last 5 years Amira has lived in SA. The school there gave her more freedom to preform, her recording company was based their, as was her charity, Gelukskinders. This video is part of her concert A South African Christmas with Amira and friends. The friends shown here are the Mzansi youth choir. Amira has performed with them a few times. It took two days to record the concert, and on the second day Amira went down with a fever. She had to return a week later to finish the recording. I think that is why there is a disjoint between the sound and the visuals. Also her hair style has changed. Other tracks from the concert include La virgine degli angeli. I'll walk with God, a duet with Lukhanyo Moyake and the Lords prayer, which also has the Mzansi in. There are a couple of tracks featuring the choir on the dvd, but are not on you tube. There is a Behind the scenes video clip which shows the choir though.

Just a small bit of constructive criticism man. You asked us, the viewers, where Amira was born etc, & you received three replies confirming she was born in The Netherlands. It would be polite to reply saying thanks, or even a thumbs up would be appreciated. Anyway, apart from that, your reactions are great & keep up the good work Cheers Graeme
