One of the biggest treasures in my life. I was in tears after listening this. When I was a kid listened to Holy Qurbana as we were outside Kerala. My elder sister has gone, father has gone... as time passes we lose a lot in life. Such old memories are real assets we must preserve.
(1) Millions of thanks to Fr. Joshua John Achen.
(2) Not just Achen but listen carefully; the Choir is so nice, even the readings were so beautiful.
(3) Listen the Sleeha vaayana. How touching to your soul.
That was a time when inside church Holy Qurbana was like a visit to the heaven.
Nowadays people in altar itself behave like they're in streets. So sad.
Old time was much much better.
God Bless Rev. Fr. Joshua John and all who were a part of this "Historic Qurbana".
Request you all to keep this safe this audio for next generations.

My dear Achan
I still remember the audio cassettes with orange colour label in which this marvellous Qurbana was published.
When my father was transferred to Bombay in 1992 and we used to visit him during annual vacation , our only source of entertainment was a tape recorder in which this was the most played cassette.
Even as a kid I used to feel, "this Achan should be an angel in disguise". I learned much of the Qurbana liturgy from repeated listening of this cassette. I used to repeatedly say that initial sentence in the cassette in that tone itself " The holy Qurbana: celebrated by Father Joshua John" And I always wanted to see how did you, the angel look like in the real world.
It was that long awaited meeting which happened after many many years when you came to the hospital one day to consult me.
Thank you dear Acha for reviving this recording, for your vision to produce a cassette back then and for carrying many of us to heaven through your Qurbana in your Angelic Voice. Seeking your prayers.

I'm not an Orthodox but I respect all denominations and I had the privilege of meeting personally Fr. Joshua John when he was the Parish priest at St. Thomas Orthodox church at Kirkee Pune and I played guitar for his Easter Mass then. He's such a committed Parish priest. I had the privilege to celebrate a holy Mass with him in which Late. Shri. P. C. Alexander the then governor of Maharashtra attended the worship.

so melodious and blessed service. how many times we heard it in our childhood, learned the tunes of our qurbana songs from this cassette....even after 4 decades I haven't heard such a beautiful service in my life.. may God bless Joshua achan..
Joshua Acha, myself went back to my good old days. It was this cassette that made me adore the orthodox liturgy through your melodious service which attracted those like me to this ministry. Your first endeavour is a thought provoking move which was criticized by the church itself. But your move was prophetic which led the church in the due time for the church itself to understand the need of the time and accepted such new system to the church for the well being of the devotees. My heart is filled with joy , as you made me remember my childhood days singing and chanting with this record holding a qurbana kramam in one hand and a child made censor in the other hand. Thankyou so much dear Achen for this masterpiece work with perfection where this idea has not been introduced in our society .

Those regular church-goers above 50-60 years of age acknowledge, admire and appreciate the great services rendered by Joshua Achen mainly in three areas; one, creation of a divinely choir wherever Achen served as Vicar; second, creation of beautiful churches wherever required and entrusted to by honourable Thirumeni; third, total discipline in the churches wherever served as Vicar... The very first and only Qurbana available that time and placed in our hearts forever. It was a heavenly experience. Not sure how many times we played this cassette at home. The choir led by Georgekutty sir and team ❤

Awesome… Melodious Holy Qurbana Acha, 40 yrs back. The innovative thought of recording the Holy Qurbana in a cassette is admirable Acha, which reached to every house and especially was very helpful for the aged and the sick….
This melodious voice has set a much higher stanadrd of prayerful worship where to only few others can tread in. What a gracious spritual feast.

Acha this is the first qurbana which we heard in the tape. At khadki when we were staying we would get up in the morning everyday hearing this qurbana. Papa would keep this qurbana early in the morning. One of the best qurbana ever heard.

Your original recording was great. The same. Choir Achan developed and teached well in Kirkee Church with very hard work and sincerely. I thank you very much for the great effort. May God give you good health and happiness always..🌹🙏

To all viewers. When UA-cam wasn't invented and the internet wasn't as famous as today, Fr. Joshua John is the first person who recorded a holy Mass in a cassette. He was warned by a then Thirumeni because his cassettes were played in private route buses. He was transferred from St. Thomas Orthodox church Pune to a church in Mumbai
This parish priest is a committed and dedicated priest and wanted to become a Thirumeni. But the politics in the church and some external unnecessary things blocked Achen's desire. I wish to see this achen as a Bishop.
can you please explain political circumstance as to why he cannot be thirumeni.
@@evan.5967 Yes brother I was closely associated with Achen and used to assist him for recording in St. Thomas Church Khadkee Pune. He was then transferred to one of the churches in Mumbai. There is a school under Mumbai diocese which Achen was the caretaker and During that time some false allegations were against him and those were even published in one of the leading national magazines published from Mumbai . It was a cheap politic targeting Achen by local politicians there. Late Dr. P C Alexander the then governor of Maharashtra was very close to Achen. so Achen's Innocence was proved Even I had the privilege of attending a holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Joshua John along Dr P C Alexander. Unfortunately Achen's selection for Bishop was rejected. If I'm not mistaken Achen still remains as parish priest not sure if he is a Cor Episcopal or Rambachen.
@@a.philip3923 If he allegedly commited something that badly he should've been ousted from his priestly roles as well.
That means our synod knows he's innocent... probably rejected on some other basis
@@evan.5967Sure possibilities are there. Might have been as you said. Everyone knows he's innocent. If you know him closely, you'll realize how committed he is. He bought a 32 channel audio mixer from the US and recorded two albums in which he composed the songs and even sang a few songs. Presently I think Fr. John Samuel is the only one as capable as him as far as music is concerned in Orthodox church.
@@a.philip3923 REv Fr. MP George is also musically talented and his Sruthi Liturgical Music School I think proves that. He also has strong foundation in Syriac.
But yes Rev Fr. John Samuel is also just as capable musically.
