The planes the Ukrainians get are Dutch planes from the 70s who are after the prime of their lives and basically they are airframes with questionable airworthiness. Sure they went through a lot of midlife overhauls that even included the strengthening of the fuselage because the frame of the plane loves to crack under stress. F-16 IS NOT a multirole fighter. Its an interceptor designed to be quick but flies like an arrow carring it's AA missiles it was not designed to be something like the F-15 to be a legit multirole fighter. F-16 around the world are a cheap excuse for countries who cannot afford multirole fighter jets so they bought the F-16 for air patrol and escort duties during peace and as intimidation during the US wars in the middle East. In Europe they were used in military training and the Dutch F-16 are not exception. They were worn out by any means necessary and should rather be in a museum than in a High intensity war like the one on the ground. If the Ukrainians lost their Mig-29 fleet what will stop the Russians from downing F-16? NOTHING

No idea what youre talking about with flight characteristics as the F-16 is an extremely maneuverable plane. The F-16 also has better range and can carry far more ordinance (the two biggest complaints about the MiG-29.) All things being equal, its not hard to argue that the F-16 is better. Dont get me wrong its an argument as each has its pros and cons, but you can argue in good faith the F-16 is better. The problem is that ukraine isnt getting modern F-16s. They are getting planes at most modernized in the 1990s. That mean 30 year old radar, avionics, and other systems. The MiG-29s donated by Slovakia (likely illegally) were significantly more modern than the F-16s ukraine is getting from denmark and the netherlands. So im sorry I dont see how a 30 year old plane is making a huge difference where a 10 year old plane couldnt.

Its also wee bit more potent ordinances that it can carry. There are many versions of the Mig-29 and of the F-16 But the F-16 wasn't used in this intense combat before where the enemy has all means to tracks you from takeoff until you reach the 400km range of AA airlaunch and 500km range of Ground AD system Radars or you appear on the radar of A-50. Its a very well observable aircraft soviet system has no problem locking on the F-16 and from that point you are dead. You can't evade the missile you can't escape the radar you get a warning and bitching Betty will tell you EJECT. Maybe the pilot survives but the plane won. And if the wrecks fell on Russian controller territory I won't be surprised if the plane wreck ends up on stage like a throphy.
