Season 2 of rezero is the one that showed the boundaries of what Tappei could do. People critique that it has no progression happening in it and yes, the situation of Subaru and his friends do not advance at all and can be seen as boring for people who aren't fans of lore and just want to chill while watching. And disliking the show because of it isn't problem at all. However, downright claiming the show is written badly because of this just shows how little experience that person has in reading. If anything, I'd say this part had the best writing. Making the story go forward with a turn of events and change of setting is pretty easy because you can go with the flow and advance the plot. But parts like season2 where it focuses on psychological, character development and uncovering the mysteries of the past in a repeating setting(which we don't have much information about and are as clueless as Subaru) is painstakingly hard to write. You need to keep the plot moving in a static situation. You have to make it interesting as well and not seem forced. And the fact that Tappei managed to do this without leaving any plot holes or setting errors is just amazing. Literally *every* character got development(well except for Rem) and overcame something or changed from how they were originally like. We also got to learn a lot more about this world with the appearance of the witches and the past of Roswall and Emilia. Plus, it opened up many questions that left us with a yearning for more and interest in the lore itself. I'm just sad that some overlook these things and hate on the show just because they aren't used to the way it unfolds the story. Anyway great video as always Shriz.
About that person who said that why Subaru get sad when someone dies even though he can save them. To answer that question Subaru have some sort of hero mindset that he should save his friends and the people who in need of help. And because of that when someone dies he's feeling guilty and blame himself for their death and that feel of guilt becomes sadness. People who think re zero is boring and Bad written story doesn't understand the story its not that kind of story that tells you everything you should think and understand some of them by yourself. Sorry for bad English it's not my main language
I'm here to do a little twist because in my opinion "no progress" is the magic of this season, literally everyone knows that Subaru is in big trouble and dead end, and to me that's just epic as well. the people that only talk trash is because they do not appreciate or understand the "thing" about this season or about the anime. (literally a dead end in all cases that makes the people think that re zero doesn't have progression) PD: please dont kill me is just my opinion. thx (EDIT: i forgot to say why i say this, is because the BIG CRITIC of re:zero is that and is like wtf)
Sorry for being a bit late to this video, but man. I love these bad reviews readings. Some of these people don’t seem to understand exactly what kind of show Re:Zero is and are expecting something like Overlord or Moshuko Tensei. Another great video by the based Shriz!
It’s all good , don’t have to watch it as soon as it’s out lol, and true it’s like they expect to a replica of other shows and it makes no since. Instead of appreciating the difference and uniqueness. And as always Appreciate you for still watching 💯
“I’m an emotional guy…” I am an emotional guy, but the biggest depression I went through anime wise would have to be in the ending of Sword Art Online Alicization (no, not the War of Underworld series, but the original season of Alicization) when the plot results in one of the most loved and cared about characters by SAO fans died in the end, even tho he helps the main character throughout the very end of Alicization: War of Underworld Part 2
Some people also miss that there are drawbacks to him returning by death like his own psychological issues making him act different in each loop and the miasma getting stronger. I could imagine situations where he dies and returns too many times in a row very close together and ends up attracting the attention of all the witch beasts you could possibly imagine... Season 4 maybe. ;)
Can we all talk about how during the first season, Subaru acting (naturally) crazy during his journey, letting go of his emotions rage and frustration, considering his situation and that he's just a guy, that had the most scariest thing to face was going to school, has now to face the really fucked up world of Lugunica? As soon as he becomes a more cold calm strategist, he was able to get through his problems, but now on season 2, it's exactly him being such a cold and calm strategist that made him get on troubles, the thing that helped him on season 1 is literally damaging him on season 2
The only one I’ve seen was that they killed Betelgeuse off too early cause he was a good character and the fact that he could possess others made him a force to be reckoned with which is very true and I didn’t think about it like that
People tend to hate things they don't understand. If more people understood that then maybe they would try to understand better the things that they hate. I hated Re: Zero at first and didn't want to keep watching but then I realized how unique and amazing the story really is and became hooked. I hated it since everything that I expected would happen didn't happen and the situation for Subaru just kept getting worse when or how I expected. I just didn't understand why until I realized this is not your typical anime or fantasy story like other Isekai, something Subaru realized much earlier in the story. I started to realize this was not supposed to be a happy fantasy story where things get cleaned up all nice and neat at the end of every episode and could see this is just a story about a guy being tortured to death over and over while trying to do his best to save everyone and escape each loop. Its like Ground Hogs Day on steroids and with much more at stake. I began to also realize how much I missed by not understanding it the first time around and watched it again and again, Season 1 and 2, and once I understood it all I began to appreciate it even more. It is the only show I have gone back to watch multiple times and I can certainly say that if you don't understand the who, what and why you'll begin to dislike Re: Zero but once you do understand and piece it all together you will enjoy and appreciate it more. It was more of a mystery than horror or fantasy from the start and a mystery will always have more potential than anything else..
These people hurts my brain. Anime watchers truly doesn't deserve to watch rezero. As someone who had been thru some shit and came out the other side of hell, this anime is really good
Hmm... well *slurps tea* you don't understand the underline THEMES to re zero, the story and thy plot are beyond any other isekai .despite me watching a couple trashy anime re zero is not one of them for many reasons. For starters they do not have extreme fan service and if they do it's only for the character development. It perfectly balanced dark and edgy with light hearted and avoided being another shitty anime and focused on story the enemies truly feel like enemies rather than being annoying pebbles on the hero's path. Recently in season 2 of re zero they actually told all about the story before Subaru was transported and saw the perspective of his parents on his disappearance unlike any other isekai where oh look at that I'm here in another world to be strong and shit re zero actually has reasoning for Subaru to be there ,not generic defeat the devil king crap. But Subaru has actual story. He went from self caring and learned to care for more than himself. Plus the music and visuals are even more amazing! Every character has amazing story to them and when you put yourself into Subaru's eyes and see more of the re zero word has than in the anime. And overall the anime is wonderfull once you emerce yourself. That's my claim on re zero AND re zero is a masterpiece on every end from its amazing art to every thing else also the characters are hot
Dude, keep up the good work... but if you're gonna hold the microphone and get so close to your mouth just put a few socks over the mic so we don't get pops and farts in our ears. If we wanted that then I'm sure there is an anime for that too. ;P

Every single re:zero "review" and "critic", that i see on MAL, makes my eyes bleed.
Its like re:zero is exposing anime reactors IQ.
😭😂 it does hurt a lot of times, and they never say anything to fix it.

I agree , I think it makes the story better. People look at it as the story stalling out when it’s really more of an obstacle to be overcame.
Yep, and even then, progress DOES happen in the sense that Subaru continuously discovers more pieces of the puzzle each episode.

Facts , he really didn’t deserve it bro. Unlike most people on UA-cam I’m a big SAO fan so I felt that.

Awesome video as always. Merry Christmas. I wish you happy holidays from Germany
Appreciate it louis, Merry Christmas and happy holidays aswell. Hope its good day!
Some people are just too stupid
Facts, Hell even I`m stupid sometimes
Yea a lot of season 2 critiques is that “it’s drawn out” with too much dialogue so stupid
Imagine thinking characters in a show "Talk to much"
It was drawn out for no reason. A lot of what was said in season 2 could've helped with the horrible pacing in season 1 and to give context.
