I love a little bit of everything…I enjoy over the counter blends, rare tobaccos, cobs, briars, I just seem to like the whole spectrum :) I’d love to get to know you more over the coming months, I do have an intro video if you’d like to know more about me. Yes, I’m so glad Muttnchop is back!! I about fell out of my chair when I saw he had uploaded a new video. I love your channel name by the way, of course :)

Really interesting thoughts, I've avoided the remakes of Balkan Sobraine because I know it's probably not going to smell like the one my grandfather smoked.🤔 I know what you mean about the smell of old tobacconists, although my wife say's that all my pipe tobacco's smell like old sweetshop 😂. I also think the warning labels don't work, I know I just psychologically block them out so I'm sure most other smokers do 😏 Hindsight is a wonderful thing though 🙂

Enjoy what you have, whether it's tobacco or anything else, rather than yearning for something else. What you have is real, the rest may not even exist, or perhaps only in the mind. Life is short, I've heard older people say that all my life, and now I'm in my sixties I know it. Nostalgia is enjoyable and a good place to wander in, but so is the present. Happy smokes.

You are so right about the variability of pipe smoking. The pipe, tobacco, the weather, the setting, company, or not and state of mind all factor into whether any particular bowl is a "great" smoke that session. May you enjoy a sweet pipe more than not. 😁🖖

another interesting video. me personally i'm not a fan of perique or aromatics with the exception of st.bruno. i love the smell of aromatics but for some reason they make me nauseous when i try to smoke them.

I enjoy White Knight. Never had the “classic” Balkans, so it’s easy for me to just like it for what it is. There are too many good blends available to worry about what no longer is. Loved the thoughtful ramble.

Great video and some sage wisdom. It’s so true we all have different tastes. I love escudo and Balkan Sobranie. Yet I could smoke original captain black all day and have many times. I’m not much of a pipe collector. I’ve only got 11-12 and it like you said about the old codgers. “It’s just a tool” and I’d rather put money into my cellar. Thanks for sharing!

Stephen...indeed we are richly blessed. I am lifted up by that sentiment and your thoughts on appreciating the "now". We can certainly appreciate the past for what it was, but not at the expense of what we have now. Be well, Brother, and bless you

I enjoy white knight as well. It's hard to recapture those great smokes from long ago. As you said out palate and senses change and I believe sometimes the way they blend a particular blend sometimes changes too...it's never the same. Always great to see you Stephen, hope you are as well as can be!

Great point on all accounts! Have you had Black House tobacco? It was blended as a match of a 23 year old version of Balkan Sobranie 759.

Yes, I loved it. Chris Tree found an old unopened tin of 759 at a car boot sale. It was a wonderful smoke.

In my opinion, Britannia still has some of the finest tobaccos in earth,Germain's, G&H,S&G and St Bruno&Condors especially that of long cut

We are very lucky to have the Lakeland blends and the Peterson's/Dunlop blends. I love HU tobaccos and the German blends.
