wish I could like it multiple times
Another most adequate performance by The Longest Johns. 🎉
BRILLIANT!!! And most adequate!
I must admit I've never heard a song about quarrying stone before, and as usual, the boys are having an awfully good time with it. It defies you not to sing along. Well done lads.
I really love the community involvement, thanks so much for this!
Sounds beautiful, and the images are amazing!
A song after my hammerin' heart! ❤ 🔨
Adequate!! ❤❤❤
Much admiration from the east coast of the US.
That was really magnificent.
Yay, and yes. Oregon, here.
Adequately perfect.
I'm constantly impressed by your ability to achieve such close harmonies with three very distinctive voices
Humans are amazing. I'm getting kinda teary-eyed.
10/10, most adequate!
What a lovely anthem, and a beautifully shot video!
Einfach großartig! Viele Grüße von der Kreideküste der Insel Rügen!
Simply great! Greetings from the chalk coast of the island of Rügen! 😊👍
Wonderfully adequate! Always such beautiful voices and harmonies from the Longest Johns🎉
Such a powerful hymn! Very adequate!
Do I see some faces from your Community videos in there? It must be amazing to be a part of something like this. It's great to see the tradition of folk songs capturing and sharing our social history being kept alive by new compositions like this.
Choirs and signers from across Dorset were sent the song to learn, before coming together with The Longest Johns to record 'Drop the Hammer' live at The Mowlem, Swanage in January 2024. You can read more about the project and download the lyrics here: artsreach.co.uk/projects/drop-the-hammer
@@artsreachdorset Thank you, I'll check that out. A big, "Well done!" to everyone concerned!
Checked out and shared on Fb. Really interesting.
We visited a fine museum at the now closed quarry at St. Mountain, near where we plan to see The Longest Johns in May.
Even if I were half as good as these guys, they'd still be twice as good as me.
In the same way that a piece of string is twice as long as half its length? 😂
@@andrewpepper3145 Yes, according to string theory.
Please, I need to know where Robbie got that adorable outfit from!
Well done
I'm not at all surprised by another adequate song by The Longest Johns. I expect no less though.
Would love to see this on Spotify as well, if possible. I was making yet another folk playlist and I couldn’t find it on the lads’ page!
Another big thumbs up! Thank you!!!
Very adequate!
This is so catchy
Isn't it just - it's become our office earworm!
I really enjoyed this!
Will this be released on Apple Music or Spotify? It's a beautiful song and very well done!
So powerful, love it ❤
I absolutely love this, but two things: 1, there seems to be no download or other streaming services of this version available on stuff like Alexa, 2, the downloads on the website for guide tracks only contain pdfs, so I'm wondering, as a blind person, how to learn the parts because I learn by ear normally.
this is amazing
Very nice
Most adequate!
Adequate!
Does "adequate" mean something else to you lot? Cause it means fit for purpose or "OK". This performance was brilliant :D and far more than "adequate"
@Phillip-nk3he For fans of The Longest Johns, yes "adequate" means something different than the standard definition. From The Longest Song wiki: "Adequate: During a livestream on the 22nd of January 2019, the band referred to a song they did as being "adequate". Chat picked it up and started saying "Adequate" after every song to say that it was great."
Thank you! I was sincerely confused as heck by that, glad there's a sane and sensible reason for calling such work Adequate, I'll remember that one😁
@@Philip-nk3he Yeah. Gotta admit I once told nearly told my kiddo he was an adequate son. He would have known that it was a compliment. Others amongst our family and friends not so much.
I can't help but wonder how many people in the comments section are confused thinking this song is far more than "adequate" 😂😂😂😂
Quite adequate, lads
anyone know what the building at 1:03 is? I have a memory of walking past it as a child but I don't know where or what it is
Hi there - that's a shot of Clavell Tower at Kimmeridge Bay on the Jurassic Coast path here in Dorset
@@artsreachdorset ah yes, thank you
Please try Billy Gray by Norman Blake. Planxty did a great job of it and called it True love has no season.I think you guys could do it more than adequately.
