The defense on this Leafs team is the best I've seen it in many years. Awesome tandem goal tending with Stolarz and Woll. Craig Berube is dialing this team in.

I literally called it the moment he got the breakaway. He's done it enough now that it's gotten predictable. The crazy part is, he's usually money on a breakaway and almost always scores.
Gretzky was the best passer in the world but still would have ripped a shot top corner in that situation. Sometimes, you have to do what's right when the moment calls because passing it blind either works or it's a give away and causes an odd man rush, and being so defensive minded you think he would know better.
Highlight of the game was Ryan Donato taking down 6’5’’ Myers after the final whistle.. From a Hawks fan perspective.. Chicago doesn’t look like they have their game settled.. like.. at all.. some skill, some intention, not much sync, Bedard putting a lot of pressure on himself to make something special on every possession and his teammates trying to not take that away from him.. but it is not making them a better team at the moment.. I think they can do better but they’re not getting it at the moment.. I like the progression of Alex Vlasic and Wyatt Kaiser.. they’re growing into the game fast. Also Reichel seems much more comfortable this year.

Quite frankly, the Leafs were awful tonight and were lucky to win. They looked lazy, slow, and disorganized for most of the night. Stolarz is the only guy who showed up. Luckily, that was enough.

Nylander is a player that, if he's not scoring, he's basically useless. The same can't be said for Matthews, Marner, Tavares or, just about, anybody on the team. There's a reason why he's on the full PP, most games, and not usually on the PK. He's getting much better at passing but his defensive game is still brutal. We all know they can score but it's their d game that has been the issue for years. Yet, he still doesn't seem to get it or care. The fact that Marner and Matthews are criticized if they lack defense, yet nobody questions Nylander's complete lack of d all the time, is just mind boggling
Come on Chicago... you're a better team than this. Get it together and figure this out. You are still in a position to obtain a playoff spot. leafs have some solid goal tending this season, made some massive gains in terms of who they picked up.

Mitch Marner passing the puck to nobody on a breakaway is just hilarious. A 30-goal scorer all alone, and he still thinks there is a better option.
