Supermodel Says A Plastic Surgeon Called Out 'What She Needs Done In Order to Look Good'

- Have you heard the saying “Men age like a fine wine but women age like a glass of milk?” Despite the fact that celebrities like Jane Fonda and Jamie Lee Curtis are redefining what it means to be a “silver fox,” there is still a huge double standard when it comes to women and aging. Many women say when they hit a certain age, they feel invisible, washed up, and unwanted. In an open discussion, Dr. Phil finds out how women feel about the pressure of aging. Supermodel and writer Paulina Porizkova, 57, is famously candid on social media for shutting down those who think her face needs “fixing” or that she should not be posing in a bikini at her age. Porizkova tells Dr. Phil that women need to embrace their wrinkles and their age. Sixty-year-old Tami says she’s so self-conscious about her age she sometimes won’t leave the house. Thirty-three-year-old Fifi says she’s consumed by her fear of aging. And, 54-year-old Terry says between her throat wattle, age spots, wrinkles, and bifocals, it’s impossible to look in the mirror and feel good. Plus, meet mother/daughter duo Elisa and Lily who are the co-founders of Stylelikeu, a website focused on self-acceptance. They are also the brains behind the documentary series “What’s Underneath Project,” where people, like Porizkova, talk about their vulnerabilities while slowly stripping down to their underwear. Love her. We gain a lot more with age than wrinkles. There’s definitely benefits too. And we don’t all have to look perfect and 21 again.
A person cannot worry about what other people think of them. As long as you are happy with what you see in the mirror, that's all that matters. I'm 60 years old and I've always been comfortable with my appearance, so I don't care what anyone else says.
Emphasis on you being comfortable with your appearance
I don’t care. I don’t need other people admiration to exist. Omg
She's basically saying "looks don't matter but admire me for my diminished looks anyways cause that's all I know how to talk about".
She’s gorgeous, looks her age, and has an actual PERSONALITY! What’s not to like!? 😂💐💝
I totally agree. As a young woman I got a lot of attention. I ”looked like a barbie doll” or I was ”so beautiful”
Ageing and now the same age as her I experience exactly the same - invisibility!!
I must admit I hated the attention as a young woman and I deeply enjoy being ignored now. 😅
I had a patient once who was exceptionally beautiful, even at her 'advanced age' (similar to this lady), but she began to need a cane to walk. I politely mentioned to her how beautifully she maintained herself throughout the years, etc. The next morning I was called out to her home where she had committed suicide. I always wondered if it was 'something I said' .. RIP.
It's terrible 🤣😂😅😆
@@LindaCasey 😳
@@LindaCasey Gosh How upsetting😢✨☘️🙏God bless you
I'm sure it were nothing you mentioned
Might it be that she were suffering in extreme pain & it were too unbearable to continue? Just the fact she were visiting the doctors suggests she might've been in much pain
Most folks i know only go when their symptoms have become too much you know? God bless you sincerely✨☘️🙏
@@evelina787 That's exactly what she was going through. You hit the nail on the head.
“ this is the best age to do a bank robbery for sure” I love her 😂❤
Middle aged women make excellent spies precisely because nobody notices them. I am not joking.
BE YOURSELF! Everyone Else Is Taken! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Best Comment!❤
Good lord, if she's invisible, I'm chopped liver for sure!
If you're getting attention for your looks, you're not being treated as a person. You're being treated as a pretty object. That's not who you actually are and those who make it their identity will have trouble once that fades.
I totally agree and thank you for saying this. This woman still seems obsessed with looks
The same could be said for people in general, such as road sweepers, cleaners, waitresses, shop attendants, labourers etc.. Mc Donald's is one of the soulless jobs I've ever done. She should be grateful she was born with good looks, which made her a very wealthy person. Some people cope with the aging process better than others.
Growing up in Brazil my brother had two posters of her on his wall back in the day. She is still just as stunning today! Gorgeous inside and out.
I absolutely adore her light. She's a beautiful person, inside and out.
They valued by the value they give
She's gorgeous!!!
She is !!!! Her body looks incredible in those photos !! Those people are soooooo jealous. She is a natural beauty !!
i am pleasantly surprised at her appearance, Paulina ACTUALLY looks like a woman her age!
And i agree with what she is saying.
Best Wishes Paulina
🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂
Where’s Robyn for this conversation 😂
Was thinking the same 😉
1- of course as we age we can’t compete with a 23 yr olds looks
2- Paulina is on point about the 2nd part of your life , a reboot as a woman and a great ❤ advocate
For enjoying the different ages and stages
I still go into deep depression over aging, which began when I turned 40 and now 52. We are completely invisible. Fake has become *normal and we live in an incredibly pretentious and superficial world. Paulina is a natural beauty and I am so glad she didn't give in to the plastic standard of women.
You're a beautiful brilliant sincere soul n this shines through Much much more importnt than external beauty
But I'm sure you're beautiful on the outside2God bless you sincerely million times
Yes she's stunningly beautiful+I'd rather have her beauty than fake tight Skin which looks plstic from2Much Surgeries you know? God bless you yours sincerely million times 🌞🌳🌞🌳🌞🌳🙏
I'm a Black female...almost 50 but dress like I'm a prudish 55 yr old. It's the opposite for me, the attention I get & always got is overwhelming to the point of anxiety. I don't wear makeup or fake anything, however I do look 30-35 & it's a shock to people at how old I am. It's genetics, I don't do anything to maintain youth!
As we age there's an inner beauty/wisdom that comes from aging...embrace it🌹
No it's not normal.
@@zenamen5221 what is not norm@l dear? God bless you 🌞🌳🌞🌳🌞🌳🙏

I love her. She is amazing, we need more women like her in the spotlight.
Yes she's beautiful isn't she She's stood up for those Models whom were sexully Abu sed by powerful Men in Modelling industry too
She’s a beautiful lady inside and out and wow she’s in amazing shape. Way better figure than 80% of the young girls in my area. I noticed they never panned the camera to Robin like the usually do when talking about beauty or skin care type topics. Can’t help but think it’s because she’s had so much work done.
Was she even there? (I haven't watched Dr. Phil in years. Is she a regular part of his show?)
I get where this woman is coming from as at 41 almost 42 I’m now starting to go through exactly what she’s talking about.,
She looks very good for being 57
Shes still gorgeous some people just take their inner hatred out on other people. Projecting their insecurities onto you.
She is beautiful as she is
Happy to see Style Like You featured here!! Love them so much. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You will never be invisible to me, Paulina! You are more beautiful every day!
I know exactly how she feels because when I was younger, I was always the center of attention, and now that I'm in my late 50s, I am totally invisible to everyone around me.😒
Right back at you
Same here
You mean like all the guys that were invisible to you at the time? Hopefully you cashed in that beauty when you had the chance lol
That's called "hitting the wall"
........ Imagine being ugly from birth and never having any attention.
She is absolutely stunning, at any age💞
She is still so beautiful. The super models of the 80s cannot be touched. These “models” today are rich girls whose parents get them modeling jobs. Paulina, Cindy, Naomi, Christy, Linda, Claudia, Kate to name a few were truly beautiful natural women.
Truly, one of the most beautiful women ever at any age. But now we get to see the beauty and intelligence inside…..❤
One good thing I can say about her is it's good she's showing what women look like at that age with no surgeries, filters and make up.
She is still very beautiful.
She’s stunning
Definitely is!!!
She didnt care when she was young now she cares
She's gorgeous 😍
💕PAULINA - Still Stunning...Beautiful
If you choose to spend your life around people obsessed with looks, don't be upset when they cut you out for loosing your youth.
Exactly. I'd say 80 percent are always invisible to the rest of the world.
No matter the age.
exactly! shes finally being treated like the average woman.
@@anniesok868 or the average men. Like 80 percent of us are treated 🤣 men or women
Exactly like unfortunately I'm not saying she's completely wrong but she had all that attention because she was only praises for her beauty nothing else .
So now she feels lost without it
@@mariec3527 yes definitely
Love this woman
I've felt invisible too.
Tis True!
👏👏👏👏👏👏
She is right and it's a sad fact. I think she looks fantastic. She was absolutely gorgeous when she was younger and she still is in my opinion. I'm glad she hasn't done anything extreme like surgery on her face. Her face actually looks great, moves normally and looks fantastic. She hasnt even dyed her hair. She has embraced the gray!! She looks exactly how she should look. How refreshing!!
This is why women prime years are from 18-early 30s. Men’s prime: as long as you eat right, gym-and moisturize-you age better from mid 30s-50s.
Plastic surgery silicone rubber bags 😆😅😂🤣😭
Sorry but that's how your whole life is if you're an overweight woman. I am used to this treatment very much so since childhood.
Women need to be seen as viable and worthy beyond a certain age and not only valued for their youthful appearance. My goodness, how about giving merit to their intelligence for one 🤔 or their witty and sparkly personality or the many contributions and sacrifices they make for their families 🤔 This video is the product of a superficial world. In other more "primitive" cultures, aging is a sign of earned respect and wisdom. We need to learn from this. Shame on our superficial culture for only recognizing outward beauty as if it's the only meaningful way to measure a woman's worth and importance while starving her inner beauty, her spirit, her wisdom and beautiful heart completely ignoring and overlooking the more important contributions she makes in this world.
But she's upset that people aren't gawking at her anymore or fawning over pictures of this 45 year old woman naked(though covering her parts) or in a bikini. There's many older women that are incredibly well known and admired for their intelligence and accomplishments. This one just wants to continue being admired for her looks like when she was 20. She didn't talk about anything other than looks, I'm not sure she even has a husband or family. So what should she be admired for?
This lady should have a chat with polar opposite Robin, Dr Phil's wife...
She’s gorgeous. This is why, however, as a Muslim women I’m glad I’m a Muslim, because at no point in my life will I have placed all my sense of worth and value on my appearance and how that impacts social interactions.. it’s a blessing to be free of this psychologically
She is beautifull! people got a serious problem with women appearance mainly men
She looks amazing. The IG platform can be savage I wouldn't believe anything the trolls have to say
This is wildly dramatic
Poor Paulina, at 15 she would make millions for the exhausting job of being a model, but now that she's old she's just like everyone else, an average person.
Yes. It's very obnoxious
I have an opposite situation. I was very attractive when younger, then never lost pregnancy weight and gained weight for many years. Now I am 45, had gastric sleeve surgery, and find I get a lot of positive attention
Beautiful god bless ❤
She is so gorgeous
She looks 😮 great at 45 LoL
Looks great. I rather see her on a cover then what they perceive as a model today. Plus other plus size models look better too.
She looks great but i think she is blowing things out of proportion. I think she was treated super special because she was a model. She had status. The rest of the one are treated average. That’s why most people did not raise their hand. If you ask Average people they get treated with NO special attention.
Yes, I find it odd. I'm 40 and my sister is 45. We hardly feel invisible...maybe it's the area we live in, but this has not been our experience...and we're not former supermodels. Maybe it has to do with the fact that being 35+ isn't a death sentence anymore like it was back in the day. I dunno. 🙃
I feel invisible with aging, it happens.
She looks fantastic, much more youthful and vibrant than the likes of Kris Jenner.
People think I'm weird because I'm not flattered when I get carded or mistaken for a college student at 41. For me it's not a compliment because I don't put my self worth or values in looking young. I'm proud of the years I've survived on this earth and the experiences I have under my belt. It's annoying when people look at me and just assume I'm young and don't know anything.
She looks 65 not 50. Not much sun?
I think older women are beautiful. The ones with the face-lifts and pouted lips look kind of desperate. If I’m invisible I make my presence noticed. I have tons of life experience. And don’t ever call me grandma. That’s about the stupidest thing you can say to a wise woman. It says more about you than about me. One day you’ll be my age. If you’re lucky.
I whole-heartedly believe that beauty is just one of those things that never diminishes or goes away.
No Matter What’s You Going Through Remember That The Best Is Yet To Come Amen❤️🇧🇸
I’m a 27 year old male, and let me just do a quick shoutout to all the beautiful lady’s in they’re 30s 40s 50s 60s, yal are not invisible by any means, maybe the men just know that cat calling and being forward isn’t the way to come at them. Cuz it’s kinda disrespectful.
Great comment! 😂
“Invisible women category.”
We call that “reality” down here on earth. 😂
Yeah most people get treated that way. I think she wants special treatment.
Because you're an authority on women "down here on earth?" Have a seat.
Paulina and ALL WOMEN at any age; you're BEAUTIFUL 😍
"Ex supernodel upset that she no longer gets special treatment because of her looks"
Yup
100%
She still looks insanely good. My wife got nice and chubby over our 16 yrs but I think she looks cute with the extra fluff. This lady just needs a man who makes her feel good about herself.
Paulina is AMAZING!!!! Love her! 💖🌞💜
She is getting on my nerves…always whining about the public’s opinion of her and showing her body like we are all idiots regarding fitness and eating.
I have always thought Paulina was exquisite and lovely. I still do. I absolutely love the way she doesn't dye her hair - it makes her Earth-goddess like. Its a bit ridiculous how soooo many people dye their hair. It doesn't make you look younger - it just looks like your hair is dyed.
1:18 onward
Notice the difference?
Her hair gets coloured.
Most people don't dye their hair to look younger.
@@Kelly-nt2rq Many do though
I adore her! What a role model!!! Screw super models! No pun intended!
She based her entire life on her good looks. Now she can’t accept the inevitable. Welcome to the human race!
I mean I think that’s exactly what she’s saying. She grew up as a supermodel. That’s a world most of us will never understand. At least she realizes it
She's a GR.I.L.F.
Welcome to the real world Hunny! Nobody cares in the end! Get money n disappear f fame
Most men have been invisible their entire lives.
Theres nothing wrong with her looks or her age. Whats wrong is her mindset. She wants the attention she had in her 20’s. Thats just not possible without the insane surgery and makeup designed to do that drastically.
She's a beautiful woman but thus is what happens when you base your entire identity on being a super model. It also doesn't help that the entire generation has shifted and nobody recognizes her as a celebrity. I'm 38, and I had no idea who she was when she was on top model.
Paulina Porizkova was a supermodel back in the '70s and '80s. Gen X is very familiar with her.
there's an inherent biological value ascribed to the ability to have children. it's wired deeply into us, and is the reason for the invisibility and loss of attraction once a person crosses that threshold. men happen to be able to have children much later in life than women,. it's that biology which drives the double standard.
Men have to live up to standards set by women to even get into a relationship… We accept reality. The opposite happens and the patriarchy is the issue?
Now you know what 99% of men go through even when they're young and at their peak physically. You know those same men that you wouldn't look at twice when you were in your 20s?
When she was married to Ric, and living in the Boston area, I sold her cosmetics, skin care, and fragrance many times over the years. At any age she is breathtakingly beautiful in person, and you could not meet a kinder, more delightful, and altogether lovely personality than Paulina.
Not just age. I have a disease that causes me to be unable to process sugers, fats and really anything that would cause weight gain. I'm 23 now and and within 2 years I am 150lbs heavier than I was before (105lbs). I used to model, do ballet, dance and hike. That speed of weight gain affects your knees, your skin loosens, you get bright red angry stretch marks. I used to light up a room, everywhere I went people would strike a conversation or smile, hold the door for me. Now I'm only 23 and I feel my glory days have already passed, I'm completely invisible. People walk into the store or out and look back and let the door slam in my face. I say hello or smile and people look In disgust. Due to inflammation in my stomach I cannot wear anything that isn't 4x bigger in size. It's so depressing, I tried ending my life many times and now I just use substances to hope I eventually die that way because this illness cannot be managed, cured or even helped. I used to be a very humble caring person, I cared for the elderly, for special children and animals since I was 16, volunteering and for work. Now I never leave my house, if I'm invisible then what's the point of it anymore.
I feel for ya, I'm a plus size woman also, since childhood. One word - hypothyroidism
