What I like the most in Shiki is that Nasu seems to have a great intimacy with him in particular, making us able to get in his persona so deep and yet so natural. I feel that Nasu’s narrative while under Shiki’s perspective is able to get us even more easily when compared with Shirou’s perspective, for example. I pretty much see Shiki as Nasu’s boy when it comes to protagonists.
@Fred Duwe Shirou's survival guilt combined with avalon changing his mindset is a personal problem of his own, and if he refused, he would've gotten killed as we've seen in the fate VN. So indirectly going into war was a good decision even if he didn't know it, either he walks away and gets mutilated by berserker, or have saber protect him.
Shiki hid his urge to kill entire time before the main event, imagine that you always wake up and the death around you everywhere, I mean 8 years since his accident. Also part of his soul also missing, his anemia, his eyes not perfect and it affect him every time he uses it etc... but he did his best to live a normal life without complaining.

Everyone forgets Shiki's Magus potential, but don't sweat, that's what this comment is for. Tl;dr He's got talent. The Nanaya clan's incestuous practices are similar to that of the Magi, but cranked up by a lot, which led to a natural build of numerous high quality magic circuits in the blood line. Shiki has such insane potential that he can hav Len as a familiar and Arcueid states that if he practiced he would match Nero's skill as a magus. Len is such a high quality familiar that almost no normal mage alive has enough Mana to feed her without being instantly drained of mana. Shiki is able to instantly satisfy her without any adverse affects. This is even more astounding considering he is running on half a tank of the incorrect fuel thanks to Akiha saving his life. After Arcueid heals Shiki with a part of Nero's goopjuice, she tells him that if he became a Magus he could control Nero's familiars and that he has potential as a magus. Beyond this, Shiki is the obvious inheritor of Aoko's blue magic, which would negate all the issues he has due to half a life-force and the effects of his eyes and brain-circuit-cancer.

Satsujinki is a play on his first name which more or less transliterates to Killer Shiki or Shikiller. DEATH is what all the Dead Apostles refer to him as.
Very nice video, really enjoyed it! Also, I think that there are three reasons that Ryougi is considered superior to Tohno. First being the simple fact that using her Mystic Eyes doesn't hurt her. Second being the fact that Ryougi is able to kill concepts, which I don't think Tohno is capable of (In one of the Knk OVAs, she killed the future that Kamekura Mitsuru predicted). ([Void]), Void.
These are all true, however we are talking a few advantages, not proper comparisons 1. Yes, Ryougi's eyes do not hurt her, but Tohno doesn't NEED his eyes to fight, he only brings them out when he has too and he can survive long enough in a battle using them. 2. Ryougi killing concepts is one thing Ryougi can do over Tohno, this is because her eyes are stronger. However she still cannot kill as fast as Tohno (death points) and isn't as adept as seeing death. 3. Void is a is a different character, when I refer to Ryougi I am not talking about her alternate personalities. Plus, what you mentioned is purely in terms of who's eyes are stronger, which yes Ryougi's are definitely more powerful. However, in terms of combat prowess, combat potential, and experience in using their own powers, Tohno is overall superior to Ryougi in all aspects.

It's never actually been shown that Shiki CAN'T kill concepts. In Hisui's route, a certain someone (spoilery) takes poison and he saves them by KILLING it. Which is pretty nuts if you think about it. Definitely crazier than Ryougi cutting off Fugino's appendix (which is impressive as well). If he can do something that ridiculous, I don't think it's far fetched to assume that he can kill concepts too.

I really like all of the protagonist in the Nasuverse. Especially Ryougi, Tohno, and Shirou. Though, what I don't understand is why did Nasu Said that Shirou and Tohno can't get along with each other. Does anyone know the reason why?
It's really simple. Tohno fights for his happiness and those around him, comparatively he's very selfish and makes a lot of mistakes. Shirou on the other hand is selfless, he wants everyone to be happy. A comparison would be the Arcueid bed scene. Shirou would undoubtedly help, and even die for Arcueid in that situation, while Shiki was thinking of running away.

So I would like to please ask for a more succinct answer if that's possible, and I'm also curious on your thoughts of when shirou and shiki fought. I believe it's a line from EMIYA in grand order that says that when he was alive he fought shiki once. He called it a terrifying experience (because duh) but I'm not really surprised Shirou survived since his abilities are sort of good for handling someone like shiki. Especially if his projection abilities would let him not only analyze shiki's abilities and techniques from looking at his knife, but grant him the capacity know where the death lines are on his body by seeing shiki aim for them during battle and knowing what he's trying to strike. Also now I'm curious what shiki would do if he came into contact with a female version of shirou. I vaguely recall him having some kind of ability to attract people who have strange views on death, and if a female shirou counted amongst that number...would that make them want to kill each other even more?

Those are plot points from Tsukihime 2, an unreleased sequel to Tsukihime The story we have are part of two short stories called Talk and Prelude, which were meant to be minor events that would build up to it

I think it's about to time to revisit Shiki's capability against Servants, as there has been an absurd amount of misunderstandings and misinformation in general. Obviously, I'm not saying that he is completely on par, but I think at least he's at the same level as Ryougi Shiki's normal forms (as people have been debating for years). First of all, the main thing that decides physical based battles in the Type Moon universe is almost always ones speed. People have been underrating Shiki's speed since basically the release of Tsukihime. In the Melty Blood manga (WHICH IS CANON), Nanaya (who bears a similar if not one-to-one physical body to Shiki Tohno) is able to toy with a 50% Arcueid to the point where she felt the need to use FUCKING ARCHETYPE:EARTH, YES, *THE* ARCHETYPE:EARTH, to one shot him. Of course, she was just trying to get the job done quickly, but it still *happened*. Now, of course, 'Word of God' exists, which are a series of statements made by Nasu himself. Nasu literally says Shiki doesn't stand a chance against Servants. And yet, that doesn't make sense. What I'm about to say goes directly against multiple statements from Nasu himself, and are based on feats alone. *Shiki Tohno, along with Ryougi and most Fate/Stay Night Servants, are massively hypersonic in speed, and have fairly relative speed in general.* Shiki, the white-woman-hunter himself, is literally able to slice Arcueid into seventeen pieces before she can react whatsoever. He can react to AND stop Nrvnqsr's monster form mid-charge with literally just a one-handed stab, which is also a great strength feat. He is also able to dodge a full power Akiha's heat-plundering attacks on only instinct, which are shown to also be incredibly fast, and then swiftly kill her afterwards. These are speed feats relative to Servants such as Archer EMIYA, who can more or less keep up with Saber and Lancer from the FSN Grail War. And actually, it isn't even just his speed that's insane. As a Tatari of White Len, Nanaya Shiki, who is weaker than both Shiki Tohno and a hypothetical composite real Nanaya Shiki, Nanaya is capable of defeating Kouma Kishima with relatively low difficulty. *Kouma should be relative to a B-rank Servant.* This gives him insane strength, and while not as destructive, likely close to a Heroic Spirit like Archer EMIYA (once again), who can fight and deflect attacks from Saber, Lancer, and Caster. Am I saying Shiki flat out beats FSN Servants? No. Am I saying Shiki is relative to most Servants? Also no. Am I saying that Shiki is underrated as hell? *Yes.*
Yeah, and People be saying Tohno can't kill concepts when he kill like Divine construct (Arc's body), Paradox (Ciel), Heat Manipulation (Akiha), Lightening and Consciousness (Roa), Poison in the body (Kohaku), Dreams and Nightmare (Kagetsu Tohya), Reality Marble, TATARI (Melty Blood). And I have not even included Tsuki Re and MBTL. People always misunderstanding because of misinformation from Wiki and the video like this one.

The similarities between Tohno and Shirou are way uncanny. •Both suffered disasters that changed their lives forever •Both were adopted •Both have a rich sister with two maids •Both have special powers that act as a double edged sword •Both have an admirer that ended up getting cursed and killing people •Both of their first routes are with a blond haired older woman who didn't have a normal life •Both of their first routes also have future events •Both of their adopted fathers screwed them over by ruining their old lives but gave them new lives
Shirou's ability isn't so much of a threat to himself as Shiki's is to him. The only time it became a danger to him was when he had Archer's arm grafted onto his body. Otherwise, Shirou's ability doesn't really tax his life the way perceiving Death literally draws Shiki closer and closer to actually dying.
PhantasySeiba but he is kinda insane though in that he has to save others otherwise he can’t feel happiness. I think his own mentality is what poses the most threat to himself and I think him making too much projections also threatens to fry his brain like it happened in one of the bad ends. But yeah I guess he doesn’t have a physical problem like shiki does but his mentality can still be just as much of a problem.
@@pranava5683 The only thing I know that could possibly fry Shirou's brain through projection is him trying to trace a divine construct that he is not able to fully comprehend as for his mentality, that depends on the route he takes while with Shiki he is guaranteed to get closer and closer to death no matter what happens, but at the very least as DEATH, Shiki has gotten to the point where he only needs his Nanaya skills to kill the majority of his enemies rather than rely on his eyes, but by that point his eyes are already too strong that he needs to wear sealing bandages over them. Also as noted by Nasu, Fate/Stay Night Shirou does not end up like EMIYA in any of his routes, because he either finds something else to strive for (Saber), reconciles with himself that his ideal is impossible (Rin), or he gives it up entirely to protect one person (Sakura). Whereas Shiki uses his eyes no matter what route he takes and the amount of use just makes them stronger and stronger until he cannot control them with just a special pair of glasses alone.
You know, I like Ryougi but at some point her powers got ridiculous. It doesn't help that she has fannon wank like "cutting distance". She's connected directly to the root, has no drawback to using her eyes and so on and on. I like how Tohno is more grounded. It shows that KnK is one of the early Nasu stuff, simply because of how unbalanced stuff is (like Fujino being so goddamn OP when you think about it).
@@EbullientSMP I'd say he's balanced because his head will literally blow up if he uses the eyes too much (Unless Talk and Prelude added something more about that, as I'm not too familiar with Satsujinki/Shikiller.)
Excellent video on Shiki Tohno. :) Along with cosplaying as him, I also consider him and Arcueid to be the best couple ever, especially I find their story to be incredibly inspiring and a reminder that while life is fragile, but it is also to be cherished, especially with loved ones. I've also been making a playlist full of tunes to represent them, which also includes tunes from Castlevania, Kamen Rider Kuuga and other series. I definitely do hope that even with the upcoming Tsukihime remake, that Nasu will be able to build Shiki up to his true potential, because believe me, with him and Arcueid coming back from death more than at least twice, I believe that there's nothing that can truly stop them!

Kouma himself is a very strong man, able to crush trees with his bare hands. His seclusion has made his demonic abilities so powerful that he's become one of the strongest men on the world, able to even fight most higher beings, including servants.
Yeah can wait when he became DEATH/Satsujinki in next sequel from remake version and in remake he have some buff unlike his original version(same with the main heroine)

I really like all of the protagonist in the Nasuverse. Especially Ryougi, Tohno, and Shirou.
Though, what I don't understand is why did Nasu Said that Shirou and Tohno can't get along with each other. Does anyone know the reason why?
It's really simple. Tohno fights for his happiness and those around him, comparatively he's very selfish and makes a lot of mistakes. Shirou on the other hand is selfless, he wants everyone to be happy.
A comparison would be the Arcueid bed scene. Shirou would undoubtedly help, and even die for Arcueid in that situation, while Shiki was thinking of running away.

That explanation seems a bit water thin, and I wrote it. So I would like to please ask for a more succinct answer if that's possible, and I'm also curious on your thoughts of when shirou and shiki fought. I believe it's a line from EMIYA in grand order that says that when he was alive he fought shiki once. He called it a terrifying experience (because duh) but I'm not really surprised Shirou survived since his abilities are sort of good for handling someone like shiki. Especially if his projection abilities would let him not only analyze shiki's abilities and techniques from looking at his knife, but grant him the capacity know where the death lines are on his body by seeing shiki aim for them during battle and knowing what he's trying to strike.
Also now I'm curious what shiki would do if he came into contact with a female version of shirou. I vaguely recall him having some kind of ability to attract people who have strange views on death, and if a female shirou counted amongst that number...would that make them want to kill each other even more?

Those are plot points from Tsukihime 2, an unreleased sequel to Tsukihime
The story we have are part of two short stories called Talk and Prelude, which were meant to be minor events that would build up to it

It's a real thing. Nasu has implied a lot of content to it, and it's even referenced in the original story. It's just not written properly.

I think it's about to time to revisit Shiki's capability against Servants, as there has been an absurd amount of misunderstandings and misinformation in general. Obviously, I'm not saying that he is completely on par, but I think at least he's at the same level as Ryougi Shiki's normal forms (as people have been debating for years).
First of all, the main thing that decides physical based battles in the Type Moon universe is almost always ones speed. People have been underrating Shiki's speed since basically the release of Tsukihime. In the Melty Blood manga (WHICH IS CANON), Nanaya (who bears a similar if not one-to-one physical body to Shiki Tohno) is able to toy with a 50% Arcueid to the point where she felt the need to use FUCKING ARCHETYPE:EARTH, YES, *THE* ARCHETYPE:EARTH, to one shot him. Of course, she was just trying to get the job done quickly, but it still *happened*.
Now, of course, 'Word of God' exists, which are a series of statements made by Nasu himself. Nasu literally says Shiki doesn't stand a chance against Servants.
And yet, that doesn't make sense.
What I'm about to say goes directly against multiple statements from Nasu himself, and are based on feats alone. *Shiki Tohno, along with Ryougi and most Fate/Stay Night Servants, are massively hypersonic in speed, and have fairly relative speed in general.* Shiki, the white-woman-hunter himself, is literally able to slice Arcueid into seventeen pieces before she can react whatsoever. He can react to AND stop Nrvnqsr's monster form mid-charge with literally just a one-handed stab, which is also a great strength feat. He is also able to dodge a full power Akiha's heat-plundering attacks on only instinct, which are shown to also be incredibly fast, and then swiftly kill her afterwards. These are speed feats relative to Servants such as Archer EMIYA, who can more or less keep up with Saber and Lancer from the FSN Grail War. And actually, it isn't even just his speed that's insane.
As a Tatari of White Len, Nanaya Shiki, who is weaker than both Shiki Tohno and a hypothetical composite real Nanaya Shiki, Nanaya is capable of defeating Kouma Kishima with relatively low difficulty. *Kouma should be relative to a B-rank Servant.* This gives him insane strength, and while not as destructive, likely close to a Heroic Spirit like Archer EMIYA (once again), who can fight and deflect attacks from Saber, Lancer, and Caster.
Am I saying Shiki flat out beats FSN Servants? No. Am I saying Shiki is relative to most Servants? Also no. Am I saying that Shiki is underrated as hell? *Yes.*
Yeah, and People be saying Tohno can't kill concepts when he kill like Divine construct (Arc's body), Paradox (Ciel), Heat Manipulation (Akiha), Lightening and Consciousness (Roa), Poison in the body (Kohaku), Dreams and Nightmare (Kagetsu Tohya), Reality Marble, TATARI (Melty Blood). And I have not even included Tsuki Re and MBTL. People always misunderstanding because of misinformation from Wiki and the video like this one.

Shirou's ability isn't so much of a threat to himself as Shiki's is to him. The only time it became a danger to him was when he had Archer's arm grafted onto his body. Otherwise, Shirou's ability doesn't really tax his life the way perceiving Death literally draws Shiki closer and closer to actually dying.
PhantasySeiba but he is kinda insane though in that he has to save others otherwise he can’t feel happiness. I think his own mentality is what poses the most threat to himself and I think him making too much projections also threatens to fry his brain like it happened in one of the bad ends. But yeah I guess he doesn’t have a physical problem like shiki does but his mentality can still be just as much of a problem.
@@pranava5683 The only thing I know that could possibly fry Shirou's brain through projection is him trying to trace a divine construct that he is not able to fully comprehend as for his mentality, that depends on the route he takes while with Shiki he is guaranteed to get closer and closer to death no matter what happens, but at the very least as DEATH, Shiki has gotten to the point where he only needs his Nanaya skills to kill the majority of his enemies rather than rely on his eyes, but by that point his eyes are already too strong that he needs to wear sealing bandages over them. Also as noted by Nasu, Fate/Stay Night Shirou does not end up like EMIYA in any of his routes, because he either finds something else to strive for (Saber), reconciles with himself that his ideal is impossible (Rin), or he gives it up entirely to protect one person (Sakura). Whereas Shiki uses his eyes no matter what route he takes and the amount of use just makes them stronger and stronger until he cannot control them with just a special pair of glasses alone.
You know, I like Ryougi but at some point her powers got ridiculous. It doesn't help that she has fannon wank like "cutting distance". She's connected directly to the root, has no drawback to using her eyes and so on and on. I like how Tohno is more grounded. It shows that KnK is one of the early Nasu stuff, simply because of how unbalanced stuff is (like Fujino being so goddamn OP when you think about it).

Excellent video on Shiki Tohno. :) Along with cosplaying as him, I also consider him and Arcueid to be the best couple ever, especially I find their story to be incredibly inspiring and a reminder that while life is fragile, but it is also to be cherished, especially with loved ones. I've also been making a playlist full of tunes to represent them, which also includes tunes from Castlevania, Kamen Rider Kuuga and other series. I definitely do hope that even with the upcoming Tsukihime remake, that Nasu will be able to build Shiki up to his true potential, because believe me, with him and Arcueid coming back from death more than at least twice, I believe that there's nothing that can truly stop them!

Kouma himself is a very strong man, able to crush trees with his bare hands. His seclusion has made his demonic abilities so powerful that he's become one of the strongest men on the world, able to even fight most higher beings, including servants.
