    When you see Savernake from above you realise just how important these green spaces are. It's one thing to hear Ray Mears rabbit on about them however when one sees them from above there is an extra appreciation for ancient and wild forest.
    If only the trees could talk - The stories they could tell. Those old trees have seen seasons pass, travellers pass and who knows what else. A magic area Sandy, Thanks for sharing. :-)

    The Savernake forest is a stunning location, especially when you can get above the canopy. Some fantastic footage and a great pie of kit you have built. ATB Jeff

    Nice video Sandy. You are getting really good at this. Really good.
    Nice to see Mandy out enjoying herself.
    By the way - Edinburgh is still in Scotland as far as I know!

    • @WiltshireMan
      @WiltshireMan  10 років тому

      You are correct Noel and not only is it in Scotland but it is the Capital city too. I did add an annotation to the video which was in the top left corner, but obviously you didn't see it so I have moved the annotation to the middle of the screen.
      Hope all is well your end? Mandy has been signed off again pending results of a recent scan.

    great footage Sandy. I took the plunge earlier this week and spoke to Rick at Marionville, and ended up setting fire to the visa in the process ;) I'll be taking it to the Forest of Dean early Nov fingers crossed. I've been using it today from the house, and we got up to 160m (onboard telemetry sent via live tv feed from 250mw transmitter). The footage with the gimbal is so smooth it is crazy, you'll be so happy when you have it fitted. I am running a 5000mah lipo, which is set quite far back to get the CoG as expected as the gimbal is quite a lump on the front. Things have moved on so much in this area of tech, it is crazy, and as you say that naza-m v2 is a cracking bit of kit. Cheers and safe flying ! atb Richie.

      @WiltshireMan  10 років тому

      Cheers Richie,
      Happy landings . Make sure you pre flight check. Take all the props off and check for cracks. A friend had a prop shatter recently and the copter crashed/.
      Can't wait for my gimbal to arrive. FPV will be fitted in due course but I can't afford to buy it all at once so I just add a bit when I can.
      Sandy

    • @ramdor72
      @ramdor72 10 років тому

      Wiltshire Man yes pre-flight is always a must. Had one heavy-ish landing at it was decending at about 1.5m/s and it took more juice on the throttle to slow it down than I was expecting. Eeek, I hope the friends crash wasn't too serious/expensive :(
      I'll be getting on the phone and renewing the old BMFA insurance as well because things can happen when least expecting it. Oh btw, i'm about to start the Foundation ham course at MC0YAD, so in months to come I might be able to say hi over the airwaves :) Cheers Richie.

      ramdor72 Welcome to the world of Amateur radio :-)
      Good luck with the flying.
      Question : What frequencies does the quad copter use ?

    • @ramdor72
      @ramdor72 10 років тому +1

      Cheers Ade, As far as radio frequencies go, 2.4GHz for the tx/rx flight control and 5.8GHz for the tv transmission. 1575.42 MHz + 1227.60 MHz for GPS. Cheers and atb, Richie.

    The higher altitude views really gives a proper sense of grandeur. Great video - looking forward to more. I've been playing with a couple toy quadcopters and a helicopter for a week now, and I definitely have the bug now. I see myself scaling up in the near future. All the best.

    • @WiltshireMan
      @WiltshireMan  10 років тому

      Your doing the right thjing Lofty. Become used to flying the smaller quads first. Make sure they are configured to fly in Mode 2 with the throttle and yaw on the left stick and pitch and roll on the right stick as this is how the GJI and other quads are configured.
      Sandy

      Wiltshire Man Yes the controllers have the same design, so I hope I'll be able to transition a bit easier as a result when that time comes. I'm glad I only spent what I have for these toys to crash into the walls, ceiling, trees (...myself) while learning to fly these before spending the few hundred euros on a DJI.

    Hi Sandy.
    Another great video, love to watch them. I was wondering if you have had any issues with anyone stopping you from flying at any of your locations.
    When I used to fly model aircraft years ago we had awfull trouble with the local authority telling us we couldn't fly here there and everywhere. Basically they were shit scared of litigation against them despite us having 5 million in third party insurance, thats one reason I packed the hobby in.
    Would love to follow in your footsteps but just rekindling my ham radio interest and that is taking a bit of financing at the mo.
    Regards, Steve, G6JEF

    • @WiltshireMan
      @WiltshireMan  10 років тому

      You have to set the limits via PC as to how far and high it will fly. In theory it could climb several thousands of feet but your not allowed to fly them any higher than 400ft
