Two hours of railway history filmed in stunning light and finished with this significant shot of two centuries of transport! Amazing camerawork and hours of patience result in a feast to the eye. Thank you very much, Kristian.
As a small boy in the 1950s I was often put on a steam train at Taunton and told to get off when the train got to Paddington where my grandmother would meet me.The driver and fireman seemed to me to be very big men to little me.The train guard would always keep a eye on us lone travellers. They were happy journeys in more civilized times. You have brought back many good memories. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing this and all of your videos! My ex-husband from 9/11/2001 and I just got remarried last Sunday 8/23/2020 after being in lockdown together since March 16th. We have so much in common, and a love of trains is one. After Covid, we've decided to make some of these rides our honeymoon adventure. ❤
Splendid film, as always. I love your choices of film angles and the landscape scenes are so beautiful. Thank you so very much for all your efforts and sharing the result with us. Please keep up the good work and take care.
Wow! This is absolutely fabulous! I have always bemoaned the fact that camcorders came along only after steam locomotives disappeared. Thanks to UA-cam, I can view these beauties again.
Great dedication, great locations, great camera control - a wonderful compilation to complement the work of those "up north". Thanks for sharing with us.
Sorry my frenglish could not pass my enthousiasm, I hope you'll get it in French. Thanks for sharing this amazing video.
I do like that more of you are beginning to use 1080P's resolution to great advantage for distant tracking shots. But, for good story telling, IF in the scene the train is passing a semaphore, do allow the signal to go to "red" before cutting or fading out, thus providing a "railway sense" of closure, (ie: at 3:40.)

A tremendous line-up of shots, all put together very neatly and what excellent engines there has been (mainline or persevered) in 2014.
Thanks very much :) It was a good year, and 2015 looks set to be quite an interesting one as well.

Wonderful! :)
Isn't 60008 supposed to be at the US National Railway Museum in Green Bay?. Excellent videos. Thanks.
J Stringer 6008 and 4489 both came over in 2013 for the Great Gathering at the NRM. They went home to their respective museums in 2014, as shown here.
It would be cool of they still diesel trains but the same design as these steam locomotives.
