In the last 2 years, I found myself looking to end my life. My wife and I suffered a miscarriage, I injured my back, leaving me bedridden for weeks with nothing to think about but the pain, both physical and psychological. I checked myself in to the hospital when I hit rock bottom. In the hospital, Christ took my hand and pulled me out of the darkness, washing everything off of me, the pain, the anguish, the torment. The road back was not easy, it wasn't meant to be. He never left me, I was just too blind to see or feel him. I am now going to be spending my Christmas with family full of humility, gratitude, and thankfulness that Christ paid the absolute price for my sin, my impurities. Thy will, not mine, be done. Christ is King. Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner. God bless you all.

God bless you, but please don’t get the delusional idea into your head that you can be Roman Catholic and Orthodox at the same time. It’s literally impossible, and the end result of trying to do so is the schizophrenic spirituality and ecclesiology of the Unia. A good and faithful Catholic by necessity _must_ reject Orthodox teaching and praxis. A good and faithful Orthodox must likewise reject Catholic teaching and praxis. Too many people, in their well-intentioned but unconscious pride, think they can heal the schism themselves by reaching across the aisle and singing kumbaya with both sides. It doesn’t work, it cannot work, and it actually pushes the Orthodox away from communion with Rome. The Orthodox churches have had to deal with Latin subterfuge and subversion of our faith for many centuries, and the modern heresy of ecumenism and its offspring (including the intentions you may be demonstrating) are just next in a long line of attempts to destabilize the integrity of our church. Be faithful to the tradition you’ve chosen if you believe it’s the singular deposit of faith handed down by the apostles. If you have any doubts that the Roman church is _not_ this, or are entertaining doubts that perhaps this deposit faith exists in its truest and undiluted state outside of it, then keep searching. Don’t live in the delusion of double-think and contradiction-for the truth does not and absolutely cannot operate in this way. May God grant us the wisdom and courage to pursue truth wherever it lies. ☦️

Yeah that's made up. The ancient Jews were celebrating feast days of the deaths of prophets or significant religious events well before Christ was born, and as the first Christians were Jewish converts, they continued that practice. The reason why it's on this specific date is because early Christians celebrated the feast of Mary's Annunciation on March 25th (the day when Christ was conceived). 9 months later is when Christ would have been born - which is December 25th.
