I’ve trained in Mma for a little over two years now and I can tell you this, when it comes to elbows the distance doesn’t really matter, the fact is that it’s bone on bone contact. I had a partner in the clinch and all I did was pop my shoulder that has head was in and swing my elbow, when it connected he went down. They are the scariest weapons in Mma because they can also cause serious lacerations.
