Say good night Victoria. Good night Queensland! Oops wrong show sorry. I loved Wheel of Fortune, John, and Adrianna. This was great after-school viewing back in the day. The whole family would gather in the kitchen to watch it religously.
Not totally off the beaten track - in 1996 that was thrown in from time to time, but rather “say goodnight to (outgoing contestant) and (second outgoing contestant)” when Tony threw off to the ad break before the golden wheel was spun.
"Based upon Wheel of Fortune produced in the United States by Merv Griffin Enterprises, a unit of the Coca-Cola Company, and distributed by King World Productions, Inc."
Rip Adriana xenides she had talent and she was fantastic and she was very nice and down to earth person I wish she was alive now and do more things like host a show or even do something like radio or film yes she appears on celebrity big brother years ago and made a brief appearance with burgo on catch phrase but she still had talent and I would’ve loved if she had more opportunities to host a show or something like that
I remember in earlier episodes, you hardly ever saw people buy vowels, and it was standard for contestants to knock out all the consonants and solve. Then in later years, buying out the vowels became common and it was solved when virtually every letter had been revealed. On the U.S edition it's been a long time since I've seen all consonants get taken out.
Nice rare find from Burgo's early-ish years. The golden wheel had only just been introduced around this time (Not sure of the exact date, but there's some evidence to suggest that it may have been in June 1986 when the show celebrated its 1000th episode)
But he was an egotistical asshole. I went to a live taping and never watched another episode on tv after that. He wouldn’t interact with anyone off camera, would do his scene and walk off every time.
On the third puzzle, the lady contestant said "A Walnut", if she were on the American version, the answer would NOT have be accepted becuz she added the "A"....
@@oo0Spyder0oo Must be different adjudicators each time the show is taped. In 1996 a contestant solved the round 1 puzzle “Not Backward In Coming Forward” adding “It’s” before he said the puzzle and was buzzed out, causing Tony Barber to explain once the puzzle was solved as to why it happened.
@@josephbrown6972 No, it's NOT the same as the USA 1975-1981 puzzle board (only IDENTICAL), because the USA board never used a nameplate to display the categories and it had a "back support" behind the trilons
1980s game shows are so cringe worthy to watch now. "We love giving away prizes here, it's just the sort of people we are" no mate, the network has paid for all the prizes and the people buy them out of the money they've won.
That was one of the downsides of the Australian version of "Wheel". Even in 2006 they were still using the same dated format, just giving away cheap prizes instead of cash, no way could the show could've survived any longer

Most of those prizes would be in Vinnies stores now!!
More like the tip
I said this the other day too, I worked in an Op Shop and that's what the prizes look like!
3:25 - that actually looks in style again.
Not for 5 grand though. $5000 for an umbrella, wow. Sad
What is the prize music at 10:00? (Siri couldn’t help and it’s not in the credits)
Baby John Burgess
How did he get that glass eye??
1980’s.
1987.
Man john was the best host. "look at number of letters its that number right there"

Wow, that's being pedantic isn't it? You would think they could accept an 'A' as a simple way of delivery.

6:50 Bankrupt: HAHAHAHA YA MONEY IS TASTY
They use the same puzzle board Susan Stafford had
I wonder if it's the same board since american wheel of fortune stopped using it in 81 or 82
