Over the course of a couple months i've switched to barefoot shoes for my walks and gym sessions. I now even prefer them for squats over my weightlifting shoes. I discovered that i no longer need the heel lift. I feel there's definitely something to making the foot 'stronger' and more capable.
As I get more into squatting / leg pressing, I'm starting to notice how bloody narrow the toe-box on my shoes are. I definitely need to work on my little toe on my left side. That little bugger doesn't want to move, period. On the other side, I can lift and splay my toes just fine. I think this is as good of an excuse as any to finally get me a pair of the ursus lifting shoes, and find a good pair of barefoot shoes for daily use.
Oh what a surprise all the time growing up I only felt natural barefooted, always indoors sometimes walking in the garden, by the time I was in my teens people commented my toes looked like fingers. I trained MMA for ten years bare footed always squatted and deadlift barefoot. And still all time at home I’m barefoot. Seasoned grapplers struggle to take me down. Same is true for chairs. Totally unnatural.
I honestly thought your thumbnail of her feet was baby feet and you were going to explain how from birth our bones were built a certain way or something, then I saw her attached to those feet, what?!?! Her calves are so big if you only see her calves down, you'd think they were super small, when they're probably normal size for women. Great video as always though!
This guy is so good.
Thank you
I like seeing this type of content- great job 👏🏼
Brilliant!!
Took me a long time to understand how important feet are in squatting. I’m going to do those drills for sure.
Chris Duffin is also big into foot health and barefoot and he knows a thing or two about squatting.

Except all weightlifting shoes suck for spreading toes. 😥
Yes, yes they do
@squatuniversity has a new shoe coming out with a wiiide toe box. Just saw a post about it they run about $200, comparable to other brands.
@@whatevenisamedic Yea I've heard about it. Only other shoe before to great popularity was Inov8 or Asics from Japan.
I'm currently using vivos. Have you tried them? I'm in the testing phase
@@whatevenisamedic Saw them and they still aren't wide as needed.
Squat University is huge on this! Great content!
Squat U is a charlatan
@@littlethuggie not a fan of squatU? Why's he a charlatan? I've used some of the drills he shows with good results

That's why.
@@littlethuggie if he's actually helping people though, that demonstrates the knowledge though, no?
@@LeeH3nson tarot card readers "help" people. Are they expressing knowledge?
