  • Here's a suggested process for preoxygenating patients with severe shunt physiology at risk of desaturation during RSI, using the Hamilton T1 Ventilator
    Its NIV-ST mode allows assisted breaths to be delivered as the patient becomes paralysed, reducing apnoea time solely to the period of laryngoscopy
    The setup allows the same circuit to be used for both non-invasive and invasive ventilation
    This workflow is also designed to minimise potential aerosol generation making it suitable for severe respiratory infections such as SARS-Cov-2
