  • In the US, prayers for peace at the Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine of the Holy Family in Washington DC have been taking place today. Parishioners have been arriving all day asking God to guide Russia and Ukraine away from military conflict. As the threat of war breaking out between Russia and Ukraine looms, the Biden Administration rejected Russia’s demands concerning NATO. Meanwhile, in the silence of the sanctuary at the Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine of the Holy Family, Fr. Robert Hitchens, says "We're worried. We're worried. We're anxious." Reverend Robert is the pastoral administrator there. His family is originally from Ukraine and he has friends there too. He says "I have brother priests serving with me who have family and friends in Ukraine. And they're extremely worried because they know what could happen." However, with the threat of war looming over Europe, Fr. Robert says we should never lose hope. White House Correspondent, Owen Jensen reports.
