Shark?? What shark? He was sleeping!!! -- LOL!!!! Nurse sharks don't usually give swimmers any problems. :)

That video was amazing. I have had so much fun with you there at Phil Foster snorkeling. I would love to go scuba diving sometime to test out my gear. You got to see a lot of really great things. Nice job capturing it all.

Many of the artificial reef structures at Phil Foster Park were built by Reef Cells.

Thank you so much for sharing! I found their website at: www.reefcells.com
I like how the company designs their artificial reef components to resemble natural structures so they blend in instead of looking like other projects that simply dumped concrete blocks or various man made junk onto the bottom. I also love how exotic fish from the ocean choose to make this their home in the river so people don't have to get on a Scuba charter boat to see them further out in the ocean. Cheers -- Jason

Did you say this was at low tide? I’m taking my boys diving for the first time this weekend and our scheduled group session is going to be at low tide. I’ve seen a lot of discussion online about when to go and the consensus is that high tide is the best time to go and that it can be very murky at low tide. This video looks great though! If that’s what it’s like at low tide I would be very happy. I was about to reschedule the dive over it but now I am not so sure. 🤔 I hope you see this and can let me know if that video was taken at low tide. 🤞I would really appreciate it. It would help me a lot with figuring out the if it’s worth it to reschedule the dive or not. Thanks!

Hi - I'm glad you found your way to my Scuba tour video! I hope my reply reaches you in time. The river at Phil Foster Park is near an ocean inlet so the tide times DO make a difference. Essentially, when the tide comes IN (moving towards HIGH), the nice clean fresh water from the ocean floods into the river and the water becomes very clear. When the tide is going OUT (towards low), the cloudier/dirtier water from up the river is making it's way out to the ocean. The best time to snorkel/scuba there would be to start a little before HIGH tide and stay there for an hour or two. That way the river is full of fresh clear ocean water. Have a great trip!! -- Jason :)

I made another video at the same park where I went Scuba diving again and went under the bridge to see what was down there. I arrived a little late because parking was hard to come by. Take a look at this video and you'll see what it looks like when things aren't timed quite right: ua-cam.com/video/TzOI5apoosY/v-deo.html

Oh, one more thing you should know. At exactly High and Low tide, the water in the river isn't really moving. In-between the two tides, the current can get quite swift. I've seen a few YT videos at Phil Foster where the people are struggling to stay put. It's not an issue if you are there around either HIGH or LOW tide.

@@JasonBagnell I didn’t see that you had replied before we went! Even so, I appreciate it. We ended up keeping our original plans to dive on the day we had planned despite the tide. It actually wasn’t too bad. Looking forward to doing it again at slack high tide!

Was that a Manatee I saw. If not, what was that? 🤔

The big grey creature in this video was a nurse shark. They are fairly docile but you don’t want to make them mad. I swam by pretty close.
