Love how vertically integrated and localized Jo has built the company. He takes his responsibility to his workers and to his community as seriously as he does his responsibility to his customers and users. This is why I will support Prusa whenever I can given my limited means.
It is an amazing factory. It would be interesting to see a similar video from the BambuLab factory. I guess the latter is much more automated. Due to the extensive testing you can be absolutely sure your Prusa machine will work perfect right out of the box. All this testing and manual labour makes a Prusa machine expensive. A more automated factory with testing only a certain percentage of each production step is much cheaper. Hence the price difference of Prusa vs Chinese competitors.
Shipping!! The weakest link. After waiting 2 years for the XL the box arrived heavily bandaged! When opened it was obvious the fork lift driver had gone through the bottom of the box instead of underneath. But Prusa sent me out a new base without a quibble
I mean, the damage to the box is not exactly their fault.. It is the courier being terrible. But like you said, Prusa got it fixed, and that is one of their strong suits I think. The CS experience is hard to match
@@winslowjoy2629 put the screws in the injection molded cover BEFORE you attempt to put it on the printer. It took me over an hour to get it there. I used their tools. I used my tools. It sucked. Period. Pretty much everyone agrees it's the worst part of the whole upgrade. Also don't lose your expansion nuts for the bed. I lost one dammit.
Let me guess, black Friday? Yeahhhhh those take a while. Butttt you'll wait less for yours than I did mine. I was a day 1 preorder so almost 2 years I think to get the XL lol
The company is huge, there is a lot of work behind our printers. It’s insane. Glad to see people smiling while working. Never saw bambulabs getting assembled. Must they have kids ?
I would love to tour Bambu similarly! I will say, the one thing I loved about the tours we have done with Prusa is how genuine the people are. So kind, caring, and more!

Yes, their vertical integration is nothing short of astounding!

Will there be a prusa mini update at some point?
Here's hoping! But the input shaping update kinda unlocked their potential!
7:18 - I think you mean 400% speed - otherwise, that machine is horribly slow.
We said 400x but I guess 4x is also appropriate. Oops.

they could fix shipping by genetically engineering flying Alpacas!! LMAO
we interrupt this assembly of the mk3.5 to bring you this special program.
speaking of which, did you know that a m3x6 screw is not a m3x10 screw? lol
been there before LOL
Might do the 3.5 upgrade this weekend, any advise?

@@awilliams1701 thanks! Estimated time to assemble?
Hey, ask them to ship my XL already.

@@3DMusketeers same. Ordered within hours of the announcement and had to wait until late 2023 to receive it.
it was a hard wait, but I do like the machine overall.
