I agree with Vivek and although I'm not much of a religious person, I never liked to associate myself or even call myself an atheist. atheism truly makes no sense. atheists think that people without religion are perfectly rational human beings and paragons of dignity, protectors of human rights and democracy, etc. that's ridiculous actually. in the 20th century alone, Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong, two atheists were responsible for almost 100 million people dying in gulags, concentration camps, wars and famine. secular ideologies can become just as dangerous as cults or religious fundamentalism. and finally, let's just imagine that you and I are soldiers and forced to fight a war to defend our nation from an invasion of a much more powerful enemy. we are in the trenches. we are drafted to fight and protect our country, our families. we are losing the war badly. we see corpses and dead bodies everywhere. basically Normandy Beach from "Saving Private Ryan" movie. even the most hardcore atheist that sees these horrors of war would start craping his pants, cry and or even pray for some sort of deity in order for him to live and not die. to hope see the next day.

Vivek has so much class. He DID NOT "SPAR" with the gentleman. They had a very respectful dialogue and his response was, in my opinion as a spiritual, but not "religious" libertarian person, perfect as he will stand for ALL of our rights as American citizens as based on the constitution and bill of rights. He spins a pretty reasonable-sounding story here, better than many of his previous attempts, but there is a sweet irony in his denigration of the recognition of, and concrete reaction to, a scientifically proven, demonstrably observable climate crisis by calling it an example of "woke religion" while declaring his belief in magical sky creatures. Well, there _is_ a connection. Climate change is going to give us all a fast track to finding out whether or not a creator exists.
He won't get the party nomination so the average citizen will never get a chance to vote for him. The two party system is corrupt, bought by the elites. This is good value for the elites. Rational Question here....? How do you know for certain there is no God? Isn't being a Atheist basically another Religion? One that has no God... but its a Belief System nonetheless. is it not?
@@deefernando4359 Being an atheist usually means not having for certain there is no God. it’s just rejecting the claim that there is a God. If you make a claim, there is no god, then you also have back that up with evidence. The burden of proof is the one making the claim, not the one rejecting the claim.
@@aplusatlanta1 Actually no... being an Atheist (by Definition) means you have a Belief that there is No God... because you certainly can't Prove there is no God. (likewise you cannot prove there is a God... so this is a Known Unknown as we say). But one thing holds absolutely True... Either we were Created, (ie. a Creator/Designer - or Ipso Facto a 'God') or we spontaneously formed randomly, by chance in an undirected manner (i.e. Evolution). . So Logically we can say with Certainty its One or the Other.... as there is no Logical 3rd Option. (are you with me so far?) The burden of Proof only lies with those trying to prove it to themselves. Its childish and illogical for you to say: "If you can't Prove to Me that there is NO GOD...then therefore these is No God..." that is not Logical. If you were without eyes, and you told me... Prove to me that Light exists... and I couldn't... does that mean that Light does not exist?
@deefernando4359 no. A lack of belief is not a belief. That’s like saying that because I don’t believe in unicorns that my religion is related to not believing in unicorns. There are many things that we all dont believe in. It would be ridiculous to qualify every one of those things as a religion. Furthermore, religion and spirituality are two separate things. Religion is more of a cultural institution. It is organized and there are customs and rituals involved. There are no customs or rituals or any other dogmatic processes involved in atheism. It is simply the absence of belief in God.

Gotta admit he handled the atheist perfectly.
While atheism IS a FAITH system, Vivek didn't rub his nose in the immediate and obvious self-contradiction , and absolutely did NOT concede the false contruct - insisting he wasn't running for Pastor .
Gotta give Vivek this one .
Abrahamic atheism is a faith system. Dharmic atheism lacks beliefs.
Atheism doesn’t include endless corroborations of one’s “belief” in something. Atheists follow different codifications, amendments, reasonings, and thoughts without being part of some hierarchy. This excludes the notion that atheism is somehow a religion. On the other hand, is it a faith? No. We do not believe in god’s infeasibility, but instead use empirical evidences and methods to come to conclusions. These conclusions have step by step dismantled those doctrines of religion, which are so devoid of science, one cannot fathom that people believe in this in the e modern century. While your choose to ignore/neglect/reject the prophecies and mythologies of other peoples, we just reject all of them, which makes logical sense (not only are all intensely similar-due to our behaviors and thoughts as a species-but if you think one of false, you better exclude all others). Sure, many atheists due, in some capacity, subscribe to the “religious impulse”-sectarianism in communism, capitalism, veganism, nationalism, and so forth-our atheism as of itself is not a faith. Those other examples I just provided are.
Atheism is a faith system, like OFF is a TV channel.
