After an abysmal 2 weeks on both Livewire motorcycles, I decided to try a 150 mile route again on the S2 Del Mar - hopefully this time without any 12v battery issues.
Nice video Ben, really appreciate the content especially as it relates to the Del Mar and really looking forward to getting mine out on the road and exploring with it. Would love some more info on the wind deflector and top case & mount.
@@AdventuresonZero would love to see it. A little disappointed that LiveWire doesn’t offer anything like that for the bike already. Especially storage solutions. And you were right the seat totally sucks. An hr in that seat is no bueno for my bum;-)
Can you let us know what the screw thread is on the mounts built into the bike? I like to not strip them out trying to figure out and I cannot find anything on them in the literature that came with the bike.
@@robertrobinson2220 lol, yeah I'm constantly reminded when riding that the stock seat is uncomfortable - sport seat is fantastic! That would be the first accessory I would buy as a new owner. Luggage options are coming, just don't know when. LiveWire has an accessories department, and the guy in charge is an avid rider - so it's in good hands. Production/acquistion just takes a while - if their solutions are better than what I have, can assure I'll be using what they have.
Went to get my Del Mar this past weekend, and they wouldn't even sell it to me because of 12V battery issues (draining the 12V just sitting in the showroom). Argh!
Another great video! We ride those roads often and are A+. Rolling to elkton tonight and hopefully will have a beautiful day for riding tomorrow. Reach out if you head north. Cheers.
I think it’s the adapter you’re using. Usually they work pretty good with certain adapters, unless they updated the SW or something to prevent it more, but I doubt that.
Could be - hard to get a good consensus online. A lot of car owners have them, but because they aren't used often, if at all, can't see if other people have the issue. One forum said that each destination charger (V2/V3) has a setting that can be set to just charging teslas (with a pilot signal) or can charge any vehicle. Dunno if that's true or not, as I've only seen it once. Could explain why the Tesla Tap works on some units and not others
@@AdventuresonZero I bought a Tesla adaptor last summer and couldn't get it to work on any of the 4 different chargers I tried. I assumed it was the adaptors fault but now I'm thinking it's more than likely a Tesla software update that stops adaptors from working. I would love to see if any of these actually work. For the Livewire One though I suppose you are just as well off using the factory charger and save the money you would spend on an adaptor for something else.
No idea. I honestly think it’s the Tesla units. I’ve read that they can be set to charge only teslas or charge anything, but can’t verify that anywhere

Thanks! I might make a video about the windscreen and top case Friday

Needs the firmware update. Sounds like one of the original models that got shipped before the factory updates
This is what I told them. They had no idea what I was talking about, so I left without it :)
@@Drstrapps 🤦♂️ you talk to your guru about it?
@@AdventuresonZero Yeah, I didn't push it because I can't do anything with it until April anyway, but that's a good idea.

Great video

When you plugged the Tesla Tap into the charger did you wait a minute before plugging it into the bike? I couldn't tell from the video.
I did all 3: immediately, 30s and then 1 min. None of it worked, I believe this unit was set to charging Teslas only

Weather is perfect for riding now 😆 sans the rain
Nice video! Really interesting and appreciated the content!

@@elbowsout6301 yeah for the LW1, these adaptors are pointless as you can just use a 110 outlet as it won’t take advantage of L2 speeds by itself

@@AdventuresonZero Respect.
Nice wintery footage.
Might be the ground or CP/CT pin issue with that adapter?

@@AdventuresonZero that can be an issue too. It's a dip switch setting in the unit.
@RedBatteryHead Like a physical switch inside?
@@AdventuresonZero yes, DIP 2, if I recall. Had such 2nd hand unit adjusted fir a neighbour. There is a manual on it to be found online.
So for the Gen2 and older, just pop off the cover then...
