Minecraft logic: combining 3 blocks give you half a block (slab),combining 6 blocks give you half a slab with 4 holes in it (trapdoor) and combining 6 blocks vertically gives you A 4/3 block (stairs)

You forgot endstone and iron bars. It's every Block that spawns on the center island and crying Obi which doesn't really make sense but ok.

granite and diorite are at least more brittle due to their crystaline structure, so, in that regard I can see them not being effective tools

The point of chainmail armour is probably to flex. Just like dragon eggs. They don't have a use but you put them in your trophy room to flex.
