@CL Montgomery. That's awesome! I'm so glad you are taking notes and applying them to your space! I have some pretty cool videos coming up for ya. Stay tuned!
Oh boy I would love to be able to afford you,?I love the way you have designed the tree’s, plants. This home was just another house, now it looks like a lived in stunning home. I have a small garden and no lake view except the new homes being built. Sign me up to hang out with you please 🌹🌹
@Elaine Flores You’re so sweet! I really appreciate you watching and I’m so happy that you like the design. I’ve been trying to think of a cool way to give back so I’m sure I’m gonna be running a contest to give away some free designs coming up. Stay tuned!
I am a new subscriber, I just love your channel and have already watched more than a dozen of your videos in one sitting. Thank you for the great ideas as well as explaining the reasoning behind your choices. 👍
Welcome aboard! I'm so excited to have you! :). Thank you for the comment and please keep them coming! I'd love to help you with any questions you have!
Hi from New Zealand. I love your designs and explanation, it really inspires me to get out in the garden. I would love to use a design program like you so I could show my ideas, I usually sketch a little idea on paper. We have unexpectedly had to redo our front lawn and garden edging. My husband and I had a few fights because I wanted a nice flowing curved garden and he didn't understand. Thanks for your guidance and ideas 🥰
@Kelly Symons Hello to New Zealand! That’s on my bucket list! I’m so happy that these videos are giving you guys ideas so that you can put your heads together and create the space of your dreams. I appreciate the comment and I’m so glad that you found this channel. Talk to you soon!
Spot on Donkey impression! How do you go about designing for internationally clients? I’m in Calgary, Canada so would be able to create a design without aerials from a drone, etc?
@Nikko M Thank you! We watch a lot of Shrek here in this house. I have two kids under four years old. I just finished up a design for someone out of Ontario so it’s not uncommon for me to design for different countries. I have a pretty easy system where we do zoom calls and gather a bunch of data so that I can create the design. If you’re interested, sign up on my waitlist and as soon as it opens up I’ll let you know.
Pine Straw. I lived in the south and when I moved up North, no one knew what pine straw was. Bundles of pine needles, like miniature hay bails. Spread around gardens and trees.
you may have mentioned it, and i missed it, but what software are you using? Is that sketchup? I'm a landscape architect, but i've worked for an engineering firm since graduating college. I've been there for 13 years now, I don't get to play with plants too too much anymore, kinda losing my skill a bit. I've been watching a lot of your videos to help keep the planting bits in my brain lol. I appreciate the content you put out!
Oh, I love holly bushes. So do deer! As much as they love hosta, honey suckle, tulips & even boxwoods. Hard to blv that they eat things which have such sharp edges & are prickly as holly.
It truly depends. The size of the tree at maturity would be the first thing I would look at. You don’t want to plant it too close to the house where it would be hitting gutters.
Were we NOT supposed to hear what you were saying while that funky music was playing? Just seemed like I was missing a lot of the conversation. I see no one else commented on it, so maybe I just didn't get that it was an intentional part of the video.
Kristy Whited You are spot on! There was somehow a copyright claim for that section of the video so I had to take out the music and swap it out real fast. I didn’t realize it was playing so loud. That’s my fault. I appreciate you watching! Thank you for the comment I will do a better job with the music in the future…
There is a middle bit with music, where it looks like you are talking but we can't hear anything! Hope you are able to post an update to the video with all the sound intact. Still learning how to do a lot of this. The fact that you need to plan for how everything evolves and grows over time makes it so much more complicated than interior design.
Awesome video.... Everything is good except for the holly bushes. If you are the one trimming weeding and raking around Holly bushes then be prepared to get pricked on their prickly leaves whether the leaves are green or brown. Just sayin'!
Hi. Love your show! However, everything you show is WAY out of my price range. Is it possible to make videos for folks that might have a budget of maybe $1-$5K to enable us middle class people to have nice landscaping? I would LOVE to show you my Back and front yard for tips that I can do on my own for $2-$3K. I live in a HOA community so there are limits of what I can and can not do…HATE IT HERE so I want to spruce up my yards (back and front) for appeal more than “to make money) get people to have interest apposed to what you do with what I call $ million+ homes. Mine is currently at the $350 mark but could get to $375 if housing stays where it is. Plus I got hit head on by a drunk driver (both my daughter and I injured, myself just had neck surgery and will need lumbar/sacrum surgery once neck is healed) point being, It’s not a good idea for me to do major jobs at this point so my landscaping is getting me in hot water with the HOA. Would love some help. I love landscaping and have a decent eye but as I said, with the surgeries, medical and in a law suit I can’t really do anything unless its 2:00am. FYI I live in York, SC 29745 area. Thank you in advance. Still love the show even though I can’t afford or even do any of your plans myself. You make the show/channel a lot of fun 👍

Thank you for watching! I think they're going to be pretty happy when it's all done. :)
This is awesome!!! I absolutely love what you do! Is it possible we could use the program you use?
Thank you. Learning the software takes times and I charge less per design then buying the software. I’d love to help you! www.bobbykdesigns.com
Nice I loved
Thank you!!!
Will the bench placement will cover the view from the house? Maybe two parallel benches would be better
That’s a great way to lay it out!!! Thank you Grecia!
I totally agree, not to put too much outdoor furniture.

And it looks pretty cool! 💥

Deer can be a pain! I do have 1 video with deer resistant plants that might interest you.
What is the rule for distance between house and trees?
It truly depends. The size of the tree at maturity would be the first thing I would look at. You don’t want to plant it too close to the house where it would be hitting gutters.
can you tell us what zone and can you do some zone 5&6

The music is too loud at times.

Thank you Megan. Yes, editing error. I’ll see if I can fix. Thank you for watching!!!❤️

@Nancy Wells Thank you. I choose Soft Touch Holly bushes for a reason. I agree. Getting Pricked is no fun!
@@BobbyKDesigns I never heard of soft touch holly shrubs, so pardon me for my error in judgement.
I do not like pine I’m in Snellville and it was all at my house when I bought it
I hear ya. I just think it’s cool because we don’t have it here in Missouri. We use bark mulch.
