If I may make a suggestion...the donkey house is really nice for them but I would fix any broken boards. They will ultimately lay down in there at some point and you don't want them to get a leg caught in the area of the missing boards. They will struggle and you will have a Vet. bill. also, be aware that they can become "cast" in there, which means they lay down and roll but get their legs caught up against the wall and are stuck on their backs, this can kill them and they should be flipped immediately if you find them in this position before it's too late. Just dome everyday hazards that we don't generally think about until it is too late. 🙁 All stalls and outbuildings for equine are made out of 2 inch oak boards so they can't kick through them either and get a leg caught.

My husband and I really look forward to your videos and usually we watch them together. We restored an 1830s Greek Revival house when first married and in our youth. It was all encompassing…tons of work. Like you we had animals…dogs and two goats in the family. You guys have managed to bring back the best of those old times. Thanks for that and for making us laugh. You guys are great!

If no one else says it, I do appreciate your production values and actually kinda scripting it as much as you can. It flows nicely, is well-paced and looks nice on UA-cam. The drone shots as setups are nice also. What camera do you use and you have training/experience?
So many of these (eg we bought an Italian shack) are the partner/wife following around with an iPhone focusing on the importance of stone wall mortar which gets boring quick. They look OK (thanks to good phone cameras), but that's about it.

Thanks for not running over the guy in the mobility scooter on the way to the beach. Our kind tries to be swiftly moving targets, but sometimes we get hit. I must say though, I was disappointed that Lincoln's beach body was not featured in this video. You're a sly one Amanda, perhaps you have realized that your husband is both charming and somehow intriguing, and most importantly, really good content in whatever way you portray him. By the way, I suggest that you gather up and start sowing all available foxglove seed to grow on for next season's blooms. The leaves may be an alternative to your lack of arsenic "should the need arise..."

We had to cut down a cherry tree because if it's damaged and a horse ate it while the leaves were wilted that was supposed to be poisonous. Also had an alert a few years years ago that Sycamore's leaves were poisonous to horses.

That church was quaint and so beautiful and obviously well kept. I have watched that portion of the video several times just to take in all the detail. I’m currently trying to help restore a small chapel at a château in France. It is nothing compared to that church but I certainly am trying to make it special. It’s just difficult since I live in the USA and only get over to France a couple of times a year. Anyway thank you for sharing…really appreciate it. Also regarding the stone walls. That room is going to be stunning in the cottage. I’d sure like to see you keep at least one wall stone for sure. I know it’s tempting to cover it especially since you want to make it more energy efficient so understand it cant all be stone. Another great vlog ❤️
Yes. They have lots of friends. Wonderful people. But I asked to clean their chapel upon a trip to France last summer of 2023. I’ve always loved France and love the architecture and beauty of the land. It was always my dream to have my own home in France. But a divorce killed that dream. So now I just have friends which is wonderful. Thanks to u tube. ❤

If you are planning to reinstall and use the fireplace (or wood stove), I would line the chimney in that wall with a stainless steel smoke stack insert. I doubt that chimney is properly lined with fire brick or sealed with mortar. A stainless liner also enhances the draft.

I think you might want to centre the cottage window between the two beams; it just looks a little wonky when it’s slightly off, the way you’ve drawn it. Have you thought about roughly plastering the stone wall (the interior one), rather than your two options of rough unfinished stone versus perfectly smooth plaster? It would look rustic without having the dusty feeling of rough stone. The whole place looks great; I love waiting to see what you’ve done each Sunday!
