- I'm incredibly sad to hear this news. Murayama created one of my favorite JRPG series, and the fact he won't see the launch of Eiyuden Chronicle is a tragedy.
Rabbit and Bear Statement: rabbitandbears...
To me this is on the same level as the loss of Kentaro Miura, creator of Berserk. Someone who was able to create perfection in their particular craft, in my eyes. Also gone way too soon. RIP Yoshitaka Murayama.
We keep losing such magnitative minds it's unfortunate
R.I.P Yoshitaka Murayama. A legend who will be missed for ages to come
The Suikoden series is one of the best stories I’ve ever experienced in a video game and although it’s sad to hear that such an incredible writer for the gaming industry has passed, i can’t wait to play his final contribution to the JRPG genre.
Condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
This news was the first thing I read when I woke up and I shouted because it was so upsetting. He was so close to seeing us all enjoy the game that him and his team was working on! It's NOT FAIR!
I was in public transport too fuck
Now I have to play the game and 100% it
Thank you for making my childhood amazing and for making the best video game series ever created. Your legacy will live on forever in the hearts of many, especially mine. Rest in peace Yoshitaka Murayama
Rest in peace.
Thank you, Murayama. Thank you very much!
RIP to a legend. Thanks for the incredible Suikoden 1 and 2.
Ugh…Damn. Rest in peace. A legend
Stories that properly acknowledge the contributions of everyone from farmers to cooks to chefs to those engaging in the actual fighting are so rare. A sad time for us fans.
Sad news. RIP
Rest in peace master😭
RIP. Sad that he didn't see the release of the game he worked hard for. Probably his magnus opus.
Rest in Peace Yoshitaka Murayama 😢
Much Sadness to loose such a great writer ....
I'm so incredibly sad, he created my single most favorite world setting for an rpg. Thank you for giving us Suikoden 1-3, and the two Suikogaiden games. Looking forward to playing Eiyuden Chronicles.
Rest in peace to a master of his craft
Mostly followed your channel since Tactics Ogre Reborn but i didn’t know you had this connection to Suikoden and it warms my heart.
Rest in Peace to a goat, a legend. Condolences to his family and loved loves. His legacy shall live on. 100%

RIP Murayama, I loved playing Suikoden when I was growing up :(
Well said. Thank you for acknowledging this inspirational man.
I hope it rest in peace and that his work transcend time so others can share and enjoy his games.
Yoshitaka Murayama creator of Suikoden rest in peace my favorite suikoden 234🤔rest in peace, thank you buddy for making this awesome video signing off 忍者
The moment I saw this news (through this video), I flashed back to nearly three years ago… when Kentaro Miura, author of the seminal manga “Berserk” was revealed to have died. While there are notable differences of course, in both cases they were trailblazers in their respective fields (Guts’ greatsword was inspiration for Cloud Strife and many others using such a weapon), and like Murayama the death wasn’t announced for at least a week… There’s a respect for privacy there that I wish the Western media would give our celebrities instead of jumping on breaking news stories. And neither Murayama or Miura would live to see their project completed but have their coworkers and friends to carry the torch (the former with them seeing “Eiyuden Chronicles” to release, the latter with them completing the story of Guts, Casca, Griffith and the rest).
It’s definitely bittersweet that so close to releasing EC, Yoshitaka Murayama cannot witness his craft re-establish itself in the public eye (especially with “Suikoden” being dormant until recently… f**king Konami). But I hope this is a good work, unlike some Kickstarters that were letdowns despite the names behind them (and not always out of deception or malice either).
Well said my friend, we have lost one of the great ones :(
I'm gonna be playing Eiyuden with someone cutting onions in the room all the time man.
Thank you Murayama-San for what you've given us.
Suikoden was my first JRPG, one love and is still my favorite game series. RIP 😢
Rest in peace, an artist gone before his time, not that any time is a better one.
Damn, I had a similar childhood with Suikoden growing up, one of my favourite games that whenever I tell people about they always say they've never heard of it. Absolutely devastating loss.
I'm deeply saddened by the news of Yoshitaka Murayama's passing. His contributions to the JRPG genre, especially with the Suikoden series, have left a lasting impact on many gamers, myself included. It's heartbreaking to know that he won't be able to witness the release of Eiyuden Chronicle, a project he poured his heart and soul into. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and the entire gaming community during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Murayama-san.
This is very sad, and even though they won't see this, here are my condolences to his family and friends.
What we have to do now is make sure to show support by buying this title and spread the word as much as possible about the need for more games like this. Even if this particular game doesn't meet expectations, we still need more studios going in this direction, especially in a time when more and more companies are going the live service route.
This is a really well done tribute video.
I always held out hope Konami would reconcile with its classic creators on some level for one more game with the IPs they helped make famous (Kojima, Murayama, Igarashi, etc) alas it wasnt to be. But I adore the first 3 Suikoden games. (3 has some gameplay warts but I really like the story). Suikoden 1 and 2 are S-Tier JRPGs in the same standing as FF7, FF6 and CT for me. So this is a tough one especially this close to seeing Eiyuden Chronicle’s release. It is a testament though to the man’s legacy that a spiritual successor to Suikoden funded so quickly and was embraced so warmly all these years later. Those games are timeless and they stuck with a lot of us, we never forgot about them and now Im hopeful with the suko remasters more and more people can discover and appreciate Murayama’s masterpieces too. RIP king thanks for everything.
I just knew today; thanks Murayama. R. I. P.
Sad Murayama won't be seeing fan reaction to his new game. Condolences to his family. Suikoden 2 is my favorite game of his work.
Its a damm shame, Story writers like him come really one in God knows how many and Yoshitaka Murayama was largely unappreciated.
Deepest Regret hope the people close to him can move on in peace
Dammit man. This kind of shit is heart breaking….
This breaks my heart just as much as when creator of the Grandia series, Takeshi Miyaji, passed away in 2011. The surviving cocreators tried their best, after. But effectively, the stories of Lunar and Grandia had been told, had ended that day.
As someone who has no prior connection to suikoden, I'll endeavour to correct that in honor of Murayama. I would know his legacy!
Rest in Peace, sir. You gave me my favorite game of all time in Suikoden II.
Suikoden 1&2 has always been my favorite JRPGs. FFT, FF7, and Legend of Dragoon are up there, but there was something special about Suikoden. I think the story and characters tugged on your heart strings better than any game of its time. That's why I backed Eiyuden Chronicles day 1, and will buy Suikoden 1&2 remaster immediately upon release. Yoshitaka Murayama was a titan among man. The world will truly miss this star of destiny.
When I seen the article on this it hit me hard. Knowing Eiyuden Chronicle will be the last story we see from Murayama-san. Been loving games from this dude since I was like 14.
Im ready for the game, but when the credits roll it's going to really hurt.
Right there with you brother. S1+2 hit home for me.
his generation of japanese creator are trail blazers, the trend setter of gaming industry, which influences are spread around the world, rip legend
Absolutely, a generation of legends, all of them.
That... is truly unfortunate.... May he rest in peace in the afterlife.... T_T
I certainly do hope his legacy will truly live on - and that Eiyuuden Chronicle will become a truly magnificent masterpiece that cements it all together, ever since the first Suikoden released.
I need... some time to grieve. Later.
I was hoping that Murayama would have a come back one day. Just like Rieko Kodama, they both died before their time. At least Murayama got to headline one final Suiko-ish title before he dropped. I would've liked to have seen another Skies of Arcadia or Phantasy Star 4ish game from Phoenix Rie.
It's not just you. Virtually anyone who played Suikoden I, II, and III, has had their childhood shaped by Murayama in a big way. It really is a series that's incredibly emotionally impactful and changed us for the better. The only issue with the early Suikoden series was the Konami marketing and low print numbers meaning that only a handful of people got the chance to experience those games. If only we had the Internet back then for easier advertising.... what could have been.
In any case, I have a feeling Eiyuden might break into that coveted favorite game of all time for both you, I and nany others, and Murayama's influence and creativity will be sorely missed. He's changed more lives than I'm certain even he knew. RIP Murayama
Rest in peace to the master of 108 stars suikoden have gave me so peacefull times
This is a massive shame. There was always a part of me that hoped we would get the Suikoden games story completed somehow. Either way, what he made will live on in the hearts of gamers for years to come.
Yeah we still don't have The Harmonia conclusion. We got to see the Queendom of Falena in Suiko 5. Falena were a whole lot cooler in S5 than how they were portrayed in Suiko 2., where reading about her history made it seem as though the Queen of Falena were a tyrant, when it couldn't be further from the truth. She was actually one of the most tragic characters out of the entire franchise.
lol I forgot to mention my point. In Suiko, Harmonia are portrayed as Nazis, but I always believed that they were something more than that especially after seeing how the Queendom of Falena turned out, who originally had a Greco Roman influence but in Falena's actual game they had more of a Tang Dynasty aesthetic.
@@HereticHydra Same here plus I feel like there are some good people in Harmoia while the main leader and some others (Really despise Luc) are flat out evil
A sad day indeed
Man that sucks, I own all the suikoden games and thought 1 and 2 were the best, I pre ordered 100 heroes and playing, I just read about him dying and was like NOOOO I hope the series continues, I am loving the new game.
He will rest in peace knowing we all loved his work this really sucks though.
Damn sorry for his loss RIH
Suikoden was the greatest game I ever played besides final fantasy 7 and xeno gears? This man literally gave me more joy than I can't even express and now he's gone. I feel so lost
🥺🙏
RIP repose en paix❤
I was getting this game anyway.
Now i feel compeld too.
Hope you all feel the same.
This is so terrible I loved everything that he's done are they going to delay the game so they can put a homage to him within it or at least in loving memory to him and the end credits?
I wanted him to create another suikoden game why was he gone too soon
I hate this so much. I just wanted him to enjoy the fruits of him and his team's labor
sad
😢😢
no way bruh, so young...
This is unfortunate news, Eiyuden might the last of released of the suikoden type game and the continuation of Eiyuden saga might also be dead
Its just in many movie, game, manga, novel, etc from Japan, when their creator dead, the series tend to died with them
😔
DAMN it
what,rip
I liked the video but it feels wrong to like it should be a 😔 not a like. Thanks for the video tom
:(
What happend to Yoshitaka Murayama?
