Given your skill, could you legit make a "Max Sacrifices Herself" ending for download? Where you travel back in time at the end, but instead of allowing Chloe to get shot, jump out yelling "stop!", getting Nathan to shoot you instead. The results are similar to the Sacrifice Chloe ending, but with a different person dying to avert the rewind-induced tornado. It's been proposed by numerous fans and would be great to be an actual option in the game.
This is not an asset flip, as a collective we need to understand that using UE4 assets or any assets from the market doesn't automatically = an asset flip, that's a very specific term with very specific negative connotations that simply don't apply here.
well, what I'm saying is the reason he makes these so fast is because he's using tons of prebuilt stuff, most likely from other available UE4 games and from the marketplace. Yeah, I'd call it an asset flip, if the purpose of these videos is to ride on the success of his older and more relevant LiS videos by inserting 3 props from Life is Strange and calling this a Life is Strange video. It's so low effort and contrived that yeah, I'd say using all preexisting assets and 2 minutes of static footage to get ad revenue and donation off of Life is Strange fans would be called an "asset flip"
Using pre-built assets takes a lot of talent, it's why asset design and level design are two completely different jobs in the industry. designing assets is an entirely different area for what he does in his videos.. He literally has 0 videos about asset design, so to expect it and be mad over there being no asset design seems a bit absurd. There is nothing wrong with using pre-existing assets. I have designed a few 2D assets for public use and I always love seeing how people transform them into their work. Look, I am a level designer. and an asset designer. I don't need a paragraph on the specifics. my point is that this video, and others, have literally nothing to do with life is strange. it's just a stage for him to put 1 reskinned max onto, every single time, and people for some reason eat it up. the reason I don't put up my own video series is because I dedicated 7 months of my life into a 20 minute Life is strange animated video, with new locations and areas that I actually spent time making fit with the game's style and actually spent the time to reskinthe characters, lipsync them manually, animate them from scratch, and come up with a plot. and it got a pretty mediocre response because people don't want that, as I've discovered. people want fast, easy to digest video like this, that really don't require much more effort that doing a scenebuild of whatever's already on the unreal store and slapping a few props from life is strange into it without even bothering to give the characters animations or facial expressions. I'm not annoyed that this exists or that it's what people want, because I've come to understand that. I'm annoyed that this blatant view farming of what is essentially marketing UE4 map/scenebuild showcases is being clickbaited out to people as life is strange content, which is clear by the way Sbel always just has to pump out another barely relevant video every time something newsworthy comes up in the fandom.
