The tallest mountain in the Cusco region, thanks to Instagram it is somehow overshadowed by the nearby Rainbow Mountain. That means you are much more likely to run into a herd of alpaca than another hiker on the trail!

Ausangate is the final chapter of our trilogy of epic Peru treks, following Huayhuash and Salkantay. What a way to go out! Each trek was unique and special. Have you done any of these treks? If not, which one would you most like to try?
Huayhuash is the best , i did many trek in Peru , Bolivia.....etc
Go to Népal ....longuer trek with good accomodation in tea house!

Thank you for watching and commenting! Ausangate and Huayhuash are amazing treks that should be on every hiker's bucket list. It is certainly possible to do these hikes without a guide, but we hired local guides in Cusco for Ausangate (Salkantay Trekking) and Huaraz for Huayhuash (Quechuandes). Both companies were excellent and made the trek more enjoyable and easier, and the food was amazing!
