- Two Ethiopian sisters, Blen and Selam Tesfalem, embarked on a journey to Rwanda two years ago with intentions to explore and return home. However, their plans took an unexpected turn as they found themselves enamored by Rwanda's charm and decided to make Kigali their permanent home.
Their journey to Rwanda was initiated by Blen's Rwandan boyfriend, whom she met while studying in China. His praises of Rwanda and encouragement prompted Blen to visit, and soon Selam decided to join her sister on the adventure.
Initially skeptical about staying in Rwanda, Selam had plans to eventually move to Canada to be with her boyfriend. However, their firsth and experiences in Rwanda changed their perspectives entirely. They were captivated by the safety, cleanliness, and overall welcoming atmosphere of the country.
Their decision to settle in Rwanda was met with surprise and confusion from their parents in Ethiopia, who couldn't comprehend what had drawn them to Rwanda. Yet, for the sisters, the sense of security and the ease of doing business in Rwanda were defining factors.
Opening a fast-food business, Quick Bites, in Kigali's bustling Imbuga City Walk car-free zone, the sisters found success and fulfillment.
