Idena is already trying to cater to a strong influx of newcomers from the Gitcoin community but one of its safety mechanisms doesn't allow growth of more than 50% of the current number of validated users per epoch in order to prevent a 51% attack. The main problem is that the network is currently too small and having too many people trying to join it would hurt it at this point. We first need to wait for some organic growth in order to be able to push for some serious marketing. Some gitcoiners have stayed and hopefully these videos will help them get the hang of Idena's mechanics and persuade them to stay for an indefinite amount of time.
Thanks for the video. I've been waiting for a whole week now for an invitation code from telegram, Reddit, even discord. Nobody in the community seems to want to share a code to me.
@@sami_egertonYou have to be patient. Very often people provide the invitation code when they are only a few days away from validation. Keep asking for the invitation, show that you know how idena works and send the certificate!
@@sami_egerton The trouble with that is that the network currently consists of a very small number of validated users. The number of invitations is limited to the 50% of the number of validated users. Each validated user can generate either zero, one or two invitations per epoch on their validated Idena identity; though some people can provide you with even more if you count their family members' and friends' validated accounts. Also, as @ilpuntodistep1215 mentioned, most users are not very active on our social media and they only try to invite someone before the validation time.
