Repairing an old makita HM1200k Hammer that hasn't been used in years.

This old makita looks like a old barn find. Probably been laying up for few years.
Problem was only the power lead buy because its been stored for so long the brushes have also become corroded in their holders.
The motor won't last long if they where not freed up properly.
would have liked to have stripped and cleaned this one. but sadly that's simply not what it was left in for.

You can’t beat the Japanese made Hitachi and Makita breakers, hammers and 9” grinders. Very little electronics, and quality components. I have some 30 years old , still running well.

i think the armature needs to change because the collector is defective and the brush still has spark and doesn't sound good

Hi Dean , do you know if O- rings from HM1211B fit the older 1211. ?

Looking up the parts diagram for both and see itbthe number are the same
