Glad you decided to stay in mint . As am I and am enjoying the pants of it . And when I get a gaming the ssd that I have my mint on will go on the new pc mint all the way 2024 -2025
Every time I leave Mint for something shiney and new, I end up having issues I can't solve in a reasonable time and come back.
My last adventure was Fedora 39 KDE. Mint is just a user focused stable experience!
hahaha good one that was humorous not going to trash LM lol broken on the latest Kernel
Sounds good. One odd thought - if I'm remembering correctly, I /think/ someone mentioned using a flatpak version of Vesktop. Maybe that could be worth a quick experiment on your Mint...?
Yea! Of course I "MIGHT" be a tad biased here though! 🤣
Will just add to someone else suggesting PipeWire and offer a suggestion for the accessing bootup options trouble.
Tried getting PipeWire onto Mint 21 myself and didn't workout. Heard from someone else they tried doing so and it didn't work for them either. If i recall, i think it messed things up and with audio and such.
Better off switching distro or waiting for Mint 22. Another reason not to recommend Mint to newbees until a newer version with full PipeWire is my take for now. Tho i’ve heard LMDE has PipeWire, the Mint based on Debian that is.
Regarding not being able to access boot menu/BIOS, it might work if you hold down power button for a few seconds (with computer off) instead of starting up computer normal way, then after it powers up, see if it gives you an option to turn any related/Fast Boot settings off.
If Fast Boot is on in BIOS, on some motherboards it disables USB until after initial boot to make startup quicker.
Glad you are sticking with Mint! It's my favorite distribution of choice, and one of the first ones I tried when I first discovered Linux.
i remember that ps2 keyboard issue, had it on an old tower which eventually packed up. shit was annoying, kept an old keyboard around just for it.
Mint until 8th june huh? hehehe
